[Effects] Wounded ''aftershock''

Post by MikeDude »

You have just been shot. A medic is commin for you. He just revived you. You'll be dizzy for a few secs. About 7/10 secs after you are revived you can go straight back to the fight. I find this kinda weird.
Shouldnt it be better if it was like this:
-Revived
-Getting healed up
-Stay dizzy 10 sec (with the effects)
-Make the effect fade away slowly (1 min)

This will be epic, as a soldier cant just go and fight again, after being critical wounded.
Now they will need to wait a few min/sec (I prefer more then 1 min tho) before they are fully available to get back in action.

This will also help the ''rambo'' issue, that people care less if they die, cause 10 seconds later they can just get back to the fight.

Tell me what you think..

Broadly agree. Medicing is still way too Vanilla.

? I am using nvidia. But you only get the revived effect for way too short, and while you are getting healed, the effect will just fade away. Which only takes about 7 seconds. which is way to short, in my opinion. Being able to optimally get back into the fight, within 10 seconds is just weird.
Better make it 1 min (I think 2 or 3 min should be best tho, but Im sure not everyone agrees)

I think Rudd is talking about the Black and White effect that only shows if you have AA off. I would love to have reviving soldiers take more time to become stable again, maybe have a deviation that takes 30 seconds to a minute to work back to normal or keep the blood effect on screen (but not the coughing) for longer after being revived?

+1

It's very annoying when you kill someone, then you see them pop back up 10 seconds later because of their medic friend hiding behind the wall with them. So a longer "stablize" or "aftershock" time would be great, as well as more realistic

Yeah and maybe add a shocked breathing effect just for the immersion. But the visual extension should be ther ein the first place.

Well if you get wounded and a medic revives you, you shouldn't straight go back to the fight.
When you get hit again, you are DEAD. I think this is enough for the moment.
Because if you are dead you got to walk a long way to get back to your squad and it wastes tickets, what can ruin the whole round.

For my part, I wait about 2 minutes avoiding enemy contacts.

Greets.

As gammlgandalf said, i dont engage enemies for 1-2 minutes after being revived. Some effects, in case they won't be annoying, will improve it i think. However, i wouldnt keep them on longer then the dead-dead debuff is on.

I agree, i hate it when they pop right up again.

PLUS, this 1 minute effect would be a perfect indicator for knowing when you can get shot again without dieing.

Guess he means, that it would be better if you can visually see the two minutes you have to lay low. Which I totally agree with.

I'm running a 4870 and I get the black and white effects with AA on.

everyone gets those, you'r not reading it right.. We want extension of that effect, cause the current one only takes about 7 sec, and then you can go straight back to fight.

Definitively agree. Will end the endless hordes of revivable enemy soldiers.
Guys, when a new player comes, just answer his question and go on your merry way, instead of going berserk! It's THAT simple! :D

I completely agree with the OP.

Very well thought out idea.

I'm interested in seeing any criticism :)

I didn't catch Rudd's apparent typo, he can correct me if I'm wrong but I'm sure that this is what he meant.

Actual wording
there is a kickass revived effect, but unfortunately you can see if if your using a nvidia card, which super sucks
Edited to what he meant with changed in color:

I have an Nvidia card, Stoic has an ATI card. When I turn on AA I no longer see the black and white effect on my Nvidia card, when I had an ATI card (when I started in .5 and maybe through .6 or so) I could turn AA on and see the effect.

It is a driver issue with Nvidia. No, I will not turn AA off, the game looks terrible without it.
