Game Crashing

Hi
I am very new to project reality and I am looking forward to really getting into it. I am having trouble installing it however. I downloaded the newest full client from fileplanet but when I click on it nothing happens. Its part 1/2.

remember to give us information on your computer mate, hardware, operating system etc.

if your using windows vista it can take a long long time to load sometimes.

oh right sorry. my computer is able to run anything really as I mostly play arma 2 but yes I use vista.

This is completely normal. Double click the .exe installer, go away and have a cup of tea and when you come back it should have started. It takes a long time to come up simply because of the sheer size of the file, so some patience is required.

Worth noting as well that it will happen for both 1/2 and 2/2

Yeah im using vista and it could use like 1-2 hours or even more just to load the installer..

(my computer is loaded with shit..)

I use vista but mine loaded pretty fast tbh, I ran the installer in xp compatibility, as administrator and I have UAC turned off.

Yeah shouldn't take hours lol longest mine has taken was about 10 minutes iirc

Okay thanks. The black exe. black comes up but then disappears instantly. Is that normal? I guess I was just impatient? Thanks for the help!

You can wait a looonggg time... or you can disable UAC!

Disable User Account Control in Windows Vista

It will be instantaneous.

I think setup was corrupted. Anyways I re downloaded it and now the installation works fine. Thanks guys!

Next time when you install the patches,get it from this site as it is the official site.

You can't really tell... Ever heard of cyber-ninjas? They can install any mod without the original game. Might wanna google it.

But well, there is a slight difference between PR and vBF2... so you can't really tell... (I'm sure he's gonna kill he's on squad with the AT4 because of the deviation someday... or he'll fire it prone, I'm sure...)

Hi all,
Just got the game install and that worked fine. I started my first game online and as soon as I the clicked squad assignment my game crashed to desktop. This has happened a couple of times and I don't know what the deal is. I usually play ArmA 2 at everything set to high so it shouldn't be a hardware problems but I'm not sure. Thanks for the help.
