SVD vs All Other DMR's

I know there is an old thread about the accuracy of DMR's somewhere on the forums, but I have been unable to dig it up and I think that the feedback I wish to give is unique enough to warrant it's own thread.

Some time ago I began to notice what I thought was a difference in the levels of accuracy between the SVD and all the other DMR's. After several days of testing my theory both online and in co-op, I still can't prove it conclusively, so I am posting to see if anyone else feels the way I do.

Do you feel that the SVD fires more accurately than the other DMR's?

I have found that time and time again, the SVD is capable of hitting targets that other DMR's do not. I don't know if the SVD and other DMR's all use the same deviation code (this is in deployed mode) but I have found that at ranges in excess of 250m, the other DMR's tend to have a significant degree of deviation even after a full settle time.

I was under the impression that DMR's had virtually no deviation out to 600m and so I am also wondering if perhaps the problem lies not in the deviation but in the sight picture. It could be that the rifles fire accurately, but that the sights do not line up properly and so the weapon does not shoot where you aim it.

All of this is pure speculation, and it could just be that I'm no good with other DMR's. Perhaps one of the DEV's can shed some light on the deviation code and sight accuracy for DMR's?

EDIT: This is not a thread for discussing the pro / con of DMR's versus any other weapon i.e. SAW, Sniper, etc. This is strictly about the performance of the DMR's on their own.

hahaha yes I do. The SVD is more accurate at longer ranges then some other DMR's a close contender is the G3 marksman. The m21 I find, is just horrible although with the addition of the bipod its better.

I personaly find the IDF DMR the most accurate with the SVD 2nd I think its the IDF sights that make it better.I cant hit a thing with the US DMR.

I cant see every DMR kit in the game using the same code as thay are different weapons and should handle as such I could be wrong tho.

I have to say that i do agree. The IDF DMR powns in the face (literally). I refer to it as the headshotter due to a lucky 15-headshot spree i had with it. On the contrary, the M14 seems like a POS.

I love the M14, and I have had great success with it, though I must admit that I have had even more with the SVD. I do not like the IDF or MEC DMRs at all.

All DMR's in-game have the same accuracy across the board.

SVD does the most damage though, since it fires the heaviest round of all DMR's.

Actually in real life SVD called not DMR,it's Semiautomatic Sniper Rifle(In Russian Army).Bath Marksmans(Army) and Snipers(SF) use this gun.But difference very visible -SF snipers have more equipment and know,how to shoot from others sniper rifles like VSS,KVSK,AW,SV-98(And sometimes they got that)
Anyway STAR-21 and M4A1/wACOG very accurate,but SVD better,cuz if you hit target - they gonna die(So heavy damage)

Well, I'll say I've had more success with the SVD. I guess it's due to the power of the round, but I don't know. I just like using it. One time on Kokan, I held the east side of the map down with an SVD and a technical. Of course, I got more kills with the technical (one BH shot down), but with every shot taken with the SVD, it was either an instant kill or wounded.

In CQB, yes. That thing is a beast when waiting in a corridor and owning the guys that walk through the door.
