PR not picking mic but everything else does

Hullo. I came back from summer house, and wanted to play some PR but couldn't get my microphone working. I left my headset at summer house, but i had the detached mic from it and i plugged it straight in to the pink slot, it worked, but it was too weak to get any sounds from me so i took it out.

I have never had these problems before. I use Logitech C300 Webcam as the mic, and my sound card is REALTEK HD AUDIO. System specs as follows:

OS: Windows XP SP3
CPU: AMD Phenom II X2 550
Graphics Card: Nvidia GTX275
Motherboard: Actually i couldn't find this one, only that it's ASUS... (Edit: EPU4- Engine? dunno if that's correct...)
RAM: 4gb

I don't think those have anything to do with it tho. I haven't tried downloading latest drivers yet, as i have been pretty confused. I did searches and found very similar issues, but all the threads were unsolved so i had no idea what to do. Mumble works, windows mic check works, PR mic check, BF2 mic check and VOIP does not.

I checked that i haven't unmuted, but if i remember right, i couldn't even click my VOIP icon in manage tab.

Please help, i don't want to use my crappy headset. ??:

Make sure you have 'mike boost' on in Windows audio first, then do so in game setup. Turning down the games "sound effects" ( 25-35%) will help you hear others (voip) when riding in vehicles.

PS. Got sound effects already pretty low, i hate getting scared when someone shoots me point blank from behind

Ok, it seems this was special. I had the both mic boosts on earlier, but it still didn't work. Now it does. So whatever happened, thank you anyway!

For those who experience this, if you can't figure it out anyway, try waiting for some days and see if it automagically works then.
