Mumble communication between sub channels?

A few questions regarding Mumble and a few of it's features:

1) What is the purpose of the Chan Sub#1-Chan Sub #9, Chan Parent, Chan All Subs (in the shortcuts tab of settings)? I tried to mess around with them but they don't seem to do anything; the reason I ask is because it seemed like it might be a way to communicate between channels (ie. Team 1 SL, Team 1 CAS, Team 1 Armor, etc).

2) Is PR Mumble going to be updated with some of the things present now in Mumble 1.2.x? It has the ability to set up whisper lists for channels, if I understand correctly, which would allow for the above.

I think 1) were options put in to mumble in preparation for 1.2

2) twisted helix is the lad working on this, however he's very busy- in fact he's doing the bovington sound stuff right now, so who knows.
