tracers...

Post by maarit »

so can someone explain to me about tracers ingame?
i just wondered because i was militia side in foolsroad and i got that pkm(is it correct?)
and i thought that that weapon is made to supress enemys but when i start to shoot to the enemys location, they instantly shoot back and bang...headshot,i was dead.

it happened maybe 4 times in in 10 minutes,i shotted, they shotted me and i got to move to the other place.

I know the insurgents and taliban don't have tracers, I'm not too sure about the militia though.

How close were you to them when you were shooting? They could probably hear what direction you were while you were shooting

They can also see the dust puffs on the ground which is a indicator.

Practice makes perfect, I would suggest you fire in bursts trying to keep fire down on them for maximum supression. I don't believe militia weapons have tracers so they most likely located you by sound direction + the puffs of smoke on the ground. There's no reverb or other sound distortion so with headphones it's quite easy to locate enemies, also the supression effect will merely make it difficult for the enemy to shoot back, it doesn't actually increase their deviation so if they already have an aim on you they can still fire accurately.

Tracers are best way to find enemys location.

I think it has more to do with the fact that its a game and suppression doesnt work as effectively in a game as in real life. They see the tracers your firing at them and they know where you are, but dont have the big fear of death from getting hit like they would in real life so they take a risk and try to shoot back at you. In real life it may not work that way, they dont get to respawn, so they might not take the chance of firing back. Thus they are suppressed.

its not the tracers thats the problem, its that suppression doesnt well, becasue of this people mostly use SAWs in a shoot to kill mode instead of suppressing

fire from a good bit of cover, your PKM is good at suppressing but if the enemy is spread out then they will respond, this requires you to coordinate with your squad to ensure that all relevent hostiles are being engaged.
