PR Crashing to desktop
Ok, so I just installed 0.917 and the game starts up fine, but when the map starts to load, the game crashes. In Co-Op and multiplayer.
I'm running windows 7 64-bit.
My computer is fairly new and can definitely run the game.

Re: PR Crashing to desktop
try running in windowed for error message atleast
put this in the shortcut target(replace with whatever "..." you have)
"C:\...\...\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\pr.exe" +fullscreen 0
but i don't think it's a bug tho :S

Run 1.41 and 1.5 again
BF2 not updated to v 1.41 before patching with v1.5
FULL update 1.41
Final v1.5
Some have posted Updating with the
1.5 update
Sometimes does not complete, but looks like it does.
To find your version of BF2
run PR in 'windowed' mode
Look at the upper left corner
you should see
v.1.5.3153-802.0

click on your bf2 shortcutsweedensniiperr wrote:put this in the shortcut target(replace with whatever "..." you have)

then properties then you should see something like the above in the 'target' box
basically it's just adding the +fullscreen 0 after the target
replace the dots with whatever it's says in your shortcut...should be something like this
"C:\programs\EA Games\...\...\etc"
programs could be replaced with program files or whatever
if you still can't figure out how to run in windowed mode this might help

Run PR in 'windowed' mode
If you still have problems
run PR in 'windowed' mode to see if any error messages come up
(instead of running in full screen, it runs in a 'window')
To do so
Right click on shortcut.
Choose properties from bottom of list.
Modify the text in your shortcut's 'target' window.
("C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\pr.exe" start +fullscreen 1)
Change
+fullscreen 1
to
+fullscreen 0
Should look like this in Vista ( XP lose the (x86) ):
"C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\pr.exe" start +fullscreen 0
Then Google or use 'search' on Project Reality web page for the error message you get next time you crash..

To the OP:
Firstly I would try the removal of your \My Documents\Battlefield 2 folder, and then load up normal BF2, retrieve your account & login, then exit and start up PR. Try loading into a game then. If that does not fix your error, my suggestion for the most fail-safe way to fix it would be starting your install from scratch. Remove PR, BF2 & other mods and then...
- Install BF2
- Install 1.41 patch
- Install 1.5 patch
- Install PR0.917 Core
- Install PR0.917 Levels
And if that doesn't work.. I suggest curling up in the fetal position and sobbing oneself to sleep.

Re: PR Crashing to desktop
I'm downloading fresh copy's of 1.41 and 1.5, then I'm going to reinstall BF2 and make sure it works, then the patches, then my mods.

Re: PR Crashing to desktop
It's definitely because 1.5 is not installed fully with 1.41 previously done.
