Re: My audio options restart
Try this. It's for Vista but should work for W7 as well.
Go to windows audio and make sure 'mike boost' is on(checked).
The path to 'mike boost' in Vista is:
Sounds/recording(tab)
Click on Microphone
Click on the 'Properties' button on the lower right
Click on the 'Custom' tab upper left
Check 'mike boost' box
In the 'Advanced' tab under 'Exclusive Mode'
I have both
'Allow application to take exclusive control of this devise'
'Give exclusive mode applications priority'
checked
Once mike boost is 'on' in Windows
Start up game and you should now be able to enable 'mike boost' here as well.
Run the setup for mike 'threshold'.
Note:The louder your background noise
the higher you want the threshold #
Good luck

Did you try pressing tab in game, right click to activate mouse and click manage,
then mute and unmute yourself? That seems to work most of the time.
Check your audio con file and compare it against mine.
Path:
C:\Users\your name here\Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\0001
(note use the larger profile # if you have 0002 or 0003 etc.)
AudioSettings.setVoipEnabled 1
AudioSettings.setVoipPlaybackVolume 1
AudioSettings.setVoipCaptureVolume 1
AudioSettings.setVoipCaptureThreshold 0.1
AudioSettings.setVoipBoostEnabled 1
AudioSettings.setVoipUsePushToTalk 1
AudioSettings.setProvider "hardware"
AudioSettings.setSoundQuality "High"
AudioSettings.setEffectsVolume 0.292757
AudioSettings.setMusicVolume 0.33
AudioSettings.setHelpVoiceVolume 1
AudioSettings.setEnglishOnlyVoices 1
AudioSettings.setEnableEAX 1
Good luck

Re: My audio options restart
Just upgraded to Windows 7 and having this problem as well.
Basically VoIP disables itself as soon as I join a server. I'll enable it when I run PR, and when I join a game and ESC out I'll check the audio options and it'll be disabled. I've tried fumbling around with the mic settings, I've tried running it in WinXP compatibility mode, I've tried everything. Any solutions for this?

Have you run dxdiag?

To check for errors? There is one error that comes up and it says:[R-COM]thepalerider wrote:Have you run dxdiag?
"The file ctaud2k.sys is not digitally signed, which means that it has not been tested by Microsoft's Windows Hardware Quality Labs (WHQL). You may be able to get a WHQL logo'd driver from the hardware manufacturer."
Is that what you're looking for?
