Do the CPR hands serve any purpose?

Post by wallyroberto »

As the title states, do the weapons in the second slot of the medic do anything?

Yes, they give the body a bump, helps when the player is stuck in an object.

Before we had the hands, people used to throw a field dressing at a wounded teammate before reviving him to make sure he wasn't stuck. Since that's a waste of field dressing, though, we now have the hands that don't require any ammo.

Also, it looks cool :p

Edit: Beat me to it

its a parody of realistic medical treatment, as others have stated, when bodies were partly inside other objects there was a chance that they could not be revived, the CPR kind of rests the physics on the dead bodies so that they will respond to the epi-pen correctly and be revived.

They do, but dropping a patch on the body actually works better.

For some reason the CPR tool tends to push them up hills, rather than getting them to the bottom so you can revive them, from what I've found.

To be honest, I've never had to use them...

I've used them a couple times, they are more useful than wasting a field dressing.

I find that if a body has been laying on the ground for over a minute you always need the CPR before reviving. Oh, and top tip, if your having trouble reviving someone on a slope, you may have the body bug, where the actual body is not where your seeing it. To resolve, locate the downed persons kit, and move from the visable body position towards the kit spamming CPR. Once you hit the actual body it will re-appear in its correct location and allow you to revive.

I use a field dressing to be honest, I have plenty as a medic and never use them anyway.

What does throwing the Field Dressing do? Like, bounce off the body or something?

Whatever you throw at a body, it will always move a little. Be it a field dressing, a rock, or a grenade.

Oh really? So it doesn't move when it's in a wall or anything? The field dressing moves, or the body?

Alright matey since the person is on the hill and you want to get him down the hill don't be at the bottom of the hill doing it, you'll only push him up so get to the top of the hill facing down the hill and start the CPR and he'll slowly slide down the hill with you, as long as you use the CPR.

I made a guide for such very occasions as this:

I deal with cpr at 4:30 and 8:30.

Enjoy!

As stated it unsticks the body and allows you to revive. However, if you are reviving in an unideal situation e.g. last man standing, or under Grenadier fire etc, you should ALWAYS drop a patch first. This unsticks them and gives your patient an instant 25% health boost when they get up, which means they have some survivability, won't take as long to heal up, can sprint immediately if necessary and also see to defend themselves/you.

EDIT: ^ What Murkey says in his vid :D

I never said that I was reviving from the bottom, I was reviving from the area inside his body. I've been playing and using medic since this tool was implemented and have found it useful once in a blue moon, mainly when someone is stuck inside an object, so I'll continue to use the tried and tested patch method.

Also, try to be a little less patronizing in your posts.
