Has PR made you destroy in other FPS?
I've been playing PR for over a week now and today I decided to go back to some of my other FPS games. I dont want to sound like im bragging but playing PR has made shooting and killing in BFBC2, MW2, COD4 a joke. Does anyone else find themselves destroying ppl in other FPS games after playing PR?

I find that I suck anyways.

If anything I actually shoot worse. How can PR where you can carefully steady your aim for 4 seconds make you destroy people in other games where aiming is made in nano-seconds. I tried playing original BF2 and well.... it didn't end well.

I tried making a Teamwork squad in vbf2 and learnt that DICE didn't want that kind of gameplay to be successfullediko wrote:If anything I actually shoot worse. I can't go back to games like CS:S or TF2, can't stand the tiny maps.
Besides, I never was good at any of these games....besides firing RPGs on PR and gunning for helicopters.

In vanilla BF2 I find it makes me so much better at vehicle warfare... like when I just used to play BF 2 I would never engage in a tank battle at long range as I never thought I would hit but now long range firefights are easy...

i find that i go through soooo much more ammo in other games now. i just can't get it through my head that there is no such thing as "suppression" in COD or vanilla BF2

I just took a blackhawk and went really high above an objective and let my squad parachute in.ediko wrote:How so? Just hide in a bush and keep popping squad-mates out of your *** until bored![]()
But no, PR doesn't make you a better gamer. Things like covering/suppressing fire does not work in a game like for example CoD because they will try to pop a headshots at you even when their are tons of lead flying at them

Playing too much PR makes me worse in regular FPS games, I keep expecting people to work together and give support.
Takes a few rounds to get into lonewolf pwn mode.

Well, considering that almost every other pubber that I've met in vbf2, bfbc2 recently etc, simply havn't got any tactical thinking at all I'd say: yes.
What I've noticed is that almost:
everyone takes the quickest and most predictable path to everything;
is rather predictable in general;
nobody has any patience at all;
everybode repeats everything they do over and over again;
nobody takes cover
etc.
And then you just let loose of the PR, team working playing style, grab your best arcadish playing style/mood (ie. be unpredictable, don't rely on anyone and stay away from head-on combat) and you should be in port pwning anything and everything.
Seriously, this is true, many times, after a longer period of playing pretty much nothing but PR, I've played some vBF2/BFBC2 and surprised myself with ending up among the top scorers on the server (allthough this tendency seems to decay as the vBF2-mentality comes creeping back)

Suppressing fire does work in CoD, but you really have to overdo it. You can't suppress with single shots from rifles like you can in PR; there has to literally be a sheet of lead coming of your machine gun. Also, it helps if you're playing hardcore, and it helps more if you're playing a gamemode with no respawns.NyteMyre wrote:But no, PR doesn't make you a better gamer. But I do find that PR improves my performance in other games because playing it gets me used to being more aware of my surrounds and scanning for enemies at longer distances. Having played so much PR, what I consider to be normal firefight range is "sniper" range to your average arcade FPS player.

PR made me a bit more better at how I move around at maps.
Shooting wise, It depends. I don't spray and pray, I actually try to fire semi auto if I can

Definitely helps me in other FPS games, moving between cover and holding a position, ambushing then moving etc instead of the majority of players who just run around like maniacs.

Re: Has PR made you destroy in other FPS?
PR actually made me better in BF BC2 hardcore mode, where u have no UI, minimap and ppl die faster. All my noobish casual friends QQ its too hard and its only for pros with all unlocks, but I find easier than normal mode where u need to unload a mag into a guy for him to die.
But generally PR doesnt make u better in any other fps cuz of deviation..

Re: Has PR made you destroy in other FPS?
idk if it makes me "better", but it certainly makes playing the games alot easier. takes less time to get to objectives, guns are waaaay more accurate with alot lessss recoil. except it takes more hits to kill people =/
PR is completey different from most shooters (with exception of maybe Arma) where people actually plan things and talk through strategies in game on the field before carrying out with them.

I raged when I played the Medal of Honor beta.
Sure, it's pretty. But then it has more to do with paintball than with warfare.
Games become just "games" after PR. People never use tactics, never cooperate, never communicate.
Everybody has their own little singleplayer sessions, at least on public servers.
Also the most abstract mechanics that don't seem realistic are now totally absurd.
Killing sprees, "cover-systems". I don't know where this industry is heading, but not where I want it to.
Which is sad.
