[AAR] The battle of Kozelsk

Post by MasterOfThessus »

Hi there guys!

Just wanted to share the best PR-experience I've had in the 4+ years I've been playing :)

It was yesterday and the map was Kozelsk (on UK-warfare) and I had one of the worst PR-days ever, playing for 5-7 h without joining a single good sq or have any kind of teamwork.

The map starts up and I join the squad called "Defendingsux", just for the fun of it. Birdie was the SL, and started to make plans on how to defend milita hunting camp. Untill we informed him that we were russians ;-)

So this was our sq:

Birdie (SL)
Me (Medic)
Circa (LAT)
Moorron (Gren)

We also had an AR and an Rifleman, but I can't remember their names :( Sry guys!

So we headed out, built a FOB and moved to attack the tunnelcomplex wich now was in play, but we managed to get our selfes pinned down in between the swamp and the tunnels, with infantry flanking thru the swamp and snipers up in the hills, I think we all got killed 3 or 4 times, only to be revived by me or someone who grabbed my kit. So there we were in a crappy position, I was healing the AR while taking fire, and out of no-where commes the resque!

Birdie had called on the cavalry, and there was the [R-dev] Tank, manned by EvilHomer and Matrox. I owe you guys my life, since you placed a nice smokescreen on-top of me, and then proceeding to take out the enemy inf and FOB.

We then advanced on the flag on the hill with the rope-bridge, eliminating enemies on the way, we often lost 1-2 guys in an ambush before the rest of the sq could kill the enemy. I've never had so much reviving to do :-P

Up on the hill we got wiped out for the first time, forcing a respawn on an nearby FOB, only to have Birdie call in arty on the hill. The following scene were we advanced together with the dismounted [R-devs] on mumble was pure epic.

I'd also like to give a cookie to the Commander that day, he did a great job in keeping the team organised, and that was a great deal of fun!

We then advanced on to Launch facility, with Birdie leading us to a great overwatch position. A epic battle then followed, and I'm sad to say that I had to go before the round was over.

Anyway, thanks for staying with me, and Cheers to everyone that made that round so special!

Gotta agree with that. Couple versions ago when it was still the Chechens I was playing PR in a tournament and Kozelsk was the map for that day. The flags were Hill 161, 162, and 163 and thats it. Hill 163 is just a hill with a ladder shaft going down to the bottom and a rope bridge going across the river to the other side. Russians set up on that other side, us on the 163 side, and we continued to fight like that for 2-3 hours.

+1! Kozelsk forces u to play different, it just feels much more.. right compared to other maps, love how it has many types of landscape, and the lack of grass is actually a very good thing, cuz on most maps it just blocks ur screen if ur prone while not hiding u from enemies.
Played it yesterday, got over 2k score as APC driver, mostly transporting full squads compared to other maps where all uve got left to do is roam around cuz no1 wants u.

2 days ago on TG, we were the Russians in that situation. We all fell back, there was like a cease fire for 5 minutes of near silence except for healing and reviving, and a few suppression shots

Until we dropped Arty on them and charged 8-)
