Which is the most CPU/GPU intensive map?

Post by Dude388 »

Just curious to which map is best for benchmarking in PR.

I'm adjusting my settings and I'm trying to make sure that my settings will work across the board. I thought about Ramiel due to the size and number of object...but I'm not too sure.

I'm hoping the map is in the CO-OP pack as I'd like to test it with multiple players/models/vehicles/etc.

Thanks in advance.

I think its Dragon Fly while in the city

I know people with good computers who say they even notice a major drop in FPS

It helps to have AA maxed out on Dragon Fly, but yeah that map is by far the worst.

Dragon Fly may be irrelevant when trying to measure your performance because it is rarely even played. I'd say you're better off basing your judgement on a commonly played performance heavy map. Which map that is? Not sure. For me I think it would be Lashkar Valley but thats just based on personal experience and not statistics.

I personaly get the most slowdown on yamila so maybe that one?

It seems performence varies alot between person to person and depends where on a map you are so benchmarking will be hard. What rig do you have? for most a few things set to med is fine to run every map.

I recently changed card from radeon to nvidia and noticed heavy lag on Yamal, around 2 fps, pretty insane. So either Dragon Fly or yamal, church still though.

Unfortunately, Dragon Fly is the only reason why I don't run my game on high textures, because it will crash if I have high textures turned on.

yamila is the only map that makes my GTX 285 fan spin up. In fact. It is the only thing that ever makes my GTX 285 fan spin up. No other game or program makes my GTX 285 fan spin. There is something wrong with that map.

I have the same experience with my 5870, but try Hailstorm and up the view distance to 1200 (and OG as well) and see if you manage 60 fps in the center of the map. First time I've seen my poor baby struggle :(

I dont know. My Mac can run most everything on high.

Honestly, Fallujah can set me down a few frames.

The only computer I own is my HP Pavilion laptop [I know, lame] (Core 2 duo @ 1.83GHz and Nvidia GeForce 8600 256MB) and I always play on low graphics. I can set it to high, but when servers are near full, I get epic lag, as one might expect. On low, everything runs smooth as can be, except for Gaza and Yamalia. Fortunately, I haven't ever had a problem on Dragon Fly, seems like I'm the only person here who hasn't.

Yeah, I ran into Dragon Fly on the beers and whatevers (beers and something) server the other night and it killed the server. There were probably 12 guys on each team. I was on Militia and we got mutilated since the T-55s ran off and once our main defensive line fell in the city a lot of guys on my team quit or started destroying FOBs and TKing and stupid shit like we had already lost. Quite agrivating.

I love Fallujah. I don't experience many problems on that map. It's definately one of my favorites. Sad to say but Kashan Desert and Muttrah City and worn out their welcome for me. I've figured out that infantry is the best way to go on Kashan. And Muttrah, like Kashan as it just hits a dead point too early in the match as they're both known too well. I get bored with them, as 30 minutes into the round you've gained almost everything you will, and unless someone who's really great at being the commander (Fuzzhead) comes along and coordinates a relentless assualt that kicks the enemy on it's ***, they just become trench warfare and I prefer to always be moving around with my squad, not just taking a building and saying "That's it boys, just watch your sectors and let their tickets bleed for the next 2 hours if you want to stay that long."

I play all the maps with everything maxed out and 8x AA and for me its Yamalia, all the other maps don't really mess with my computer. Probably just my graphics card, but if I run maps with AA off I get bad lag, really low fps... Its weird.

EDIT: Might be that I have 8gb of ram, also.
