Computer Settings

Post by TIM811 »

Hey there everyone,

I am going to buy a Computer in the next days and I have some Questions.
What do you think is the requirement Hardware to run BF2 PR on highest Settings and to run ARMA2 PR on highest Settings, too.

I was thinking about buying this Computer:
ARLT Mr.Gamer GTS250 | ARLT Computer

This is a German site and for all you english speaking guys I translate the most important stuff:

-AMD Athlon II X2 245 with 2,9GHZ
-NVIDIA GeForce GTS250 1024mb
-4096mb DDR3 Ram

Another Computer:
Acer Aspire M5811
-Intel Core i3-530 2x2,93GHZ
-6GB Ram
-ATI HD5750 1GB

Last but not Least:
Packard bell I7201GE
-Intel Core i5-70 4x2,66GHZ
-3072MB DDR3 Ram
-nVidia GeForce GT230 1536MB

So what do you guys thinkn is the best Computer? It would be great if some people who have a good knowledge could help me ;)

Greetings TIM811 :)

Welcome to the forums.

I would suggest you build your own computer, you always will get more performance to the dollar.

But if you had to get one of the computers listed, I'd get the Acer Aspire M5811

HHHmmmm I agree with boilerrat best thing you can do is to build your own rig. (good German shop-->Powerstore)
Now to your question: TBH I don't think, that any of your above mentioned systems can handle ArmA II on full settings. ArmA is mainly CPU intensive, so you should take an i7 870/960.

Anyway-->Acer Aspire M5811 my choice ;-)

That shop is quite over priced in my opinion... Those are Euros right!?

I tried to spec a PC up that would be good @ ARMA2 and be a similar budget, but I ran out of money for the case, optical drive & OS...

AMD Phenom II X4 920 (2,8GHz) | ARLT Computer
Asus M4A87TD EVO | ARLT Computer
4096MB DDR3 Corsair CMX4GX3M2A1600C8 | ARLT Computer
Gigabyte GV-N460OC-1GI | ARLT Computer
500GB Seagate Barracuda ST3500418AS | ARLT Computer
Seasonic S12II-520 | ARLT Computer

Total: €662.47

Still need:
Case = ~€60-100 or use previous one
Optical = ~€20 or use previous one
OS = ??? or use previous one

The computer I built up there wipes the floor with their Mr. Gamer one... like by a considerable margin.
