Ok with some testing and thanks to EVGA's precision tool i have found the fix for Lag.
top 6 things that cause lag in every game.
1. Wail for some ppl it can be there slow internet or multiple user on at one time.
2. and others a general slow PC.
3. HEAT!
4.old Bios/drivers(MOBO, GFX, AUDIO, some Hard drives, and Cd/dvd/Blueray.)
5.Any and all background programs(Anti-viruse,hard drive backups, ETC)
6. bad Game settings which im gona go over now.
For us with fast PC's and that think that All high settings is always good, this is not true.
I have the 8800GTS(g92)512.
I have found most maps in PR use about 500MB-510MB of the video cards ram on High textures. Now that is fine but not all maps use 512 or less some use 525MB or something like this witch is not good for the 512mb card users.
Also i seen where one map plays well then the next map comes up and lag city. That is cause the BF2 engine did not unload all the textures and/or data from the last map. Even 1 meg from the last map can be too much with such awesome large maps.
So to fix this there is one simple thing you need to do. NOT USE ALL HIGH ALL THE TIME!
LOL ok now that i popped that bubble that you have making you think your system is so great we can get to reality a little, but just a little.
1st get the precision tool by EVGA. or any equivalent Tool.
2nd turn down setting till when running the game you have at lest 25-40mb free of room for map changes.
You can't tell the difference from high and medium on most of the settings.
Here is a link to what helped me discover this info and some screen shots that show you the diff in low, medium, and high settings. TweakGuides.com - Battlefield 2 Tweak Guide
Note: SLI\crossfire does not increases your rams size it only does a dual channel type effect making two copy's of whats on card one.
All High is best for 7900GTX with at lest a one gig or better with one gigabyte.
Also i have heard that 8800gtx W/ 768 cant run on all high would seam they run like the 512's but i don't have that card to test it.
Hope this helps many ppl before they need to post their issues. Vote for this to be stickied by posting a reply "pls sticky".
Thanks to all you gamers and hope this helps you in someway.
