Ability to make drivers stop

Are you tired of yelling bail out when you are in an transport vehicle? Tired of typing to drivers telling them to stop driving and drop you off? well now you can

only 1/4 the amount of effort of a normal voice file in PR .. why dont we simply CUT UP the voice chat ( Stop firing now ) and convert the STOP part of the voice to a LEFT clickability of the Comme rose of Bailout.

So to simplify things.

Right click ( Bail out ) / Left click (Stop)

these can be used in sucession like ... Stop, , , , Bail out , , , or if the driver doesnt get the point say.. Stop,, Stop,, Stop,,

there are many ways to get your point across.

Only issue is Does this idea work for Every faction?? do any of the voice binds to the commerose for any of the others have the word STOP in the other languages? . . . . i guess its still a problem we will have to figure out

you can still use the Team chat ... but instead of telling every one in a helicopter to < BAIL OUT > . . . . . aka jump the F* out ... you can tell the heli to < STOP > aka Stop moving and land lol ...

the team chat isnt always 100% on geting a pilots attention especialy when hes trying to fly . . thats once in a while they dont get the message

Theres a plethora of people who don't even bother to read chat. If the chopper has missed a guy and you say 'go back go back', they often don't even see it due to tunnel vision.

Thats why you should all use mumble, so that you can make the driver ears bleed when he screws up.

Agree on mumble here, but for that to work it should be implemented in PR and that isn't easy I guess. For me, mumble crashes a lot, making my mouse move slow and I have to alt-tab close the procces and get back into the game, if I try restarting mumble it just gives the same crash. This is with PR mumble 0.5beta..

not the point, if someone in the back is yelling at you to bail out, either it means you have got to stop, or you have to get OUT of the vehicle cuz something bad is gonna happen.

having a stop emote aint gonna change a driver's response imo

I really don't think there is any good solution here. If the driver ignores the como rose commands, he is most likely not paying attention to chat either. But even with mumble it's not a perfect world, not everybody uses it. I always find a best thing to do is to communicate with the driver/pilot in regards to drop-off/ LZ prior to making commitment of getting into the vehicle. If the pilot/driver chooses not to stop in the planned LZ, I can do nothing else but to trust his judgment. That's what being part of the team is.

The only useful things to say via the commo rose as it is right now are:

Medic!
Cease fire!
Thanks!
Bail out!
Get in!
Need repairs! (to some extent since nobody ever really listen to that unless there's a dedicated logi squad)

The rest of it is just for lulz IMO and are easily missused by a new player that doesn't realize that using the commo rose often comprimises your position when trying to be stealthy.

I like the idea of the ability to tell the driver to stop via commo rose. It would be ten times more useful than over 60 % of the other stuff you can yell out.

As OP said you could just edit the "stop firing now!" to just "stop" and it would still sound pretty realistic IMO.

yea that IS the problem with this idea ... . . what Could happen is .. For the US voice have the normal STOP be heard . . .

With a TEXT box message * STOP * for people in Vehicle only ( IF POSSIBLE )
because if it just says stop in the voice chat the person may also not understand its for them and not for some other person in the map like how when you say .. Cease fire Every one on your team hears and sees the Text message.

When the voice transfer happens for the other factions they Might not have the translation of STOP in the vocabulary of the differnt Voices .. so for Mec like i said before you wouldnt say Stop but possibly sothing that resembles the word Stop like the Mec voice for "Cease"

but it would realy come down to ... can we auto Text chat STOP for vehicle or proximity only?? probibly not . . . .

So .. for Future reference i think it would makesense for any Community moding to remember when recording your voices ... Just have an Add on" Stop please " or "Stop now" Somthing that is There if we decide to incorporate the idea which i think makes sense because there isnt any ... Right click function for Bail out . . . . and helis and apcs not stopping where there wanted is sort of an issue for servers that dont use mumble.

A text message probably is in fact possible. Maybe not only for the driver but for everyone close to you, but it should work.

Then again, typing "stop" isn't that slow either, and takes just as long for the driver to notice. Though if the mine is directly in front of the vehicle, a commo-rose "stop" might be faster, yes.

(Though, as always, mumble solves this problem)

In all seriousness though, I like the text message idea. Maybe make it so that It will flash in a corner of your screen.
