x64 training section

Post by Noobinco »

Hello,

I started playing this game 2 days ago so my name is prtty much is the right place I think...
Since I have no experience with both ( bf2/pr ) it might be a noob question aswell..

Today I was searching the web for some tutorials, I noticed there was a training section in the left lower corner menu. But when I start the game I don't see the training section.

As I said before it might be just a noob question but some help is highly appreciated!

Thanks in advance,

Noobinco

ps.. pardon me for bad grammar..

Edit: @ thumbs down.. I thought it was a questionmark hehe

This is not a noob question and you are quite right to ask it here.

The menu entry for "training" has been removed/renamed. It is equivalent to "CO-OPERATIVE", now.
Also I might inform you that there will be no introductive hints or on how to play the game. For this I suggest consulting the manual: http://realitymod.com/manual/pr_manual.pdf

Since PR is said to be quite opposite to BF2 (gameplaywise) using the BF2 tutorial (actually just a bunch of hints popping up from time to time when you are playing) is not neccessarily benificial.

There are quite some guides on particular aspects of the game on youtube, so you might want to check those out too (aside from the manual).

There are also some threads on how to get started in a few of the forums revolving around pr.

A few basic things though:
1. PR is a teamplay-oriented game which means its not all about you but the team
2. communcation is vital (microphone and speakers/headset required), and you will be asked if you are able to communicate so, although technically it is not a requirement, virtually it is
a) BF2 facilitates "Ingame VOIP" (aka "VOIP") to communicate with players within a "squad" (group of max. 6 ppl which you chose to join)
b) 3rd party VOIP-programs: alot of clans use "Teamspeak" but here in PR we (also) use "Mumble" (actually PR-Mumble) Mumble Voice Program in Project Reality - Project Reality Forums
3. Tickets and respawn time: almost everything in PR costs tickets when destroyed/lost (i.e. tanks, jets, helicopters etc.), tickets determain which team wins or loses (the more tickets the better)
respawn times are usually significantly longer than in other games (2-15 minutes, afaik) this means your first priority should be to try to stay alive (your respawn time will increase the more deaths you have)
4. if you have questions feel free to ask (using voip or mumble, often enough there will be someone polite to take the time and answer you)
5. read the tips on map loads ;-)

hf, see you on the battlefield
