Hey all, few quick questions. I've read the manual, played for a while, etc. I have mumble, also.
1) Best way to tell uniforms apart. I'm currently checking the map ever few seconds, but in a pinch, it's bad news.
2) Mumble or VoiP? I have both on, but never hear mumble, despite "Mumble Inf" squads.
3) Is there a way to get into the frontline squads more? Nearly everytime I play, I'm sitting around doing nothing for half an hour, near the enemy, but squads never want to engage. I understand, but I'm looking for squads with "movement to contact" not "eyes on" for 45 mins. I join "Inf" squads, but 90% it's really "recon". How can I go about finding my role better?
Thanks

I personally look at helmets, call out to my squad on voip/mumble to see if they are in fact tangos...
I cant asnwer #2
3) make a squad yourself, lead... Or join special squads(after you learn) like tanks, apcs stuff like that.. and PR isn't always a lets go find people and kill them kinda game... if you coem across an enemy you shoot to kill... Thats the deal.
Hope this has helped, welcome to PR btw

Re: Newbie help
1) dont look at the uniforms(i remember my first teamkill was because i was looking at uniforms and not the gear..... good times
)
anyway, dont look at the uniforms, look at the gear. MEC use round helmets, thats the easy way to tell them apart from the USMC. same with PLA and USMC, different headgear. if you are indeed looking at uniforms, MEC and PLA are both lighter in color then the USMC marpats.
side note: and learn to identify armor. ive had too may idiots teamkill me beause they dont know the difference between an M1 and a T-70.
2) cant help you
3) sometimes, thats just what PR is. waiting around for 45 minutes and then getting into a 30 second firefight. the stress is unbelivable and the thrill of that firefight is freakin awsome.
