What would you Consider PR v1.0 ???

. . . So this is WAY out of the Time slot in terms of Whats about to be released but its somthing that i think we should talk about ....

What do you think that Project Reality V 1.0 should Include in terms of devopment??

Personaly i think that the Devs should hold off on Releasing the update 1.0 and just tease us with . . 9.60, 9.70, 9.80, 9.90, 9.95, 9.97, 9.99, possibly a 9.999 :D lolol

But for all seriousness .. V1.0 Should probly be a what to do from a snap shot of right now.

1.0 should include every community mod 100% complete with all the necessary updates Finished due to Bugs and fixes needed.

Its hard to imagine that we are getting this close to the line of v 1.0 ... being that v9.5 is almost here ( depending upon when you read this thread )

SO the Question is ....

-What do you think that V1.0 should Be?
-What does the thought of V1.0 mean to you in terms of the PR Mod its self?
-Give some insight on what goes through your head when you think about the Future of PR.

well really, i think they've almost peaked with 0.95, next'll come only tweaking smoothing and general nipping away for a release or two, but v0.1 i see it as not being a big deal, so its the big 1.0 doesnt mean it has to be any bigger than any other release only that its a milestone and should be recognised and celebrated, 2 cents AHHHHH!

1.0 is no different from 0.91.
The DEVs have made it clear they intend to continue on the same development path they are on even after 1.0.
Community factions can come after 1.0, whatever time they need to be quality.

It's just a number, as far as anyone should be concerned.

- all balance issues have to be fixed: maps, vehicles, fob fortifications, weapons and so on
- no gamedeciding bugs that arent hardcoded: glitches, hitreg as much as possible etc
- the rest pretty much the way it is right now

IIRC, small changes add a .001, medium changes add a .01, and heavy changes add a .1.


I think 1.0 should be a polished, 100% original game. No vBf2 statics, factions, weapons, etc.

I'm gonna compare PR v1.0 with the Lorentz Factor

Imagine PR v1.0 being the light speed.

You can never reach it, but you can get very very very close to it.

Example: the Large Hadron Collider can accelerate particles up 99.9999991% of the speed of light, any more would require infinite energy, i think :p

So with this we will never get PR 1.0, but we will get PR.999999999999..... etc etc etc :-P

1.0 from what i've gathered will be the actual full build version and not in "beta" build. Basically its the just of what PR is and will and not pre versions anymore. .95 is a huge step towards this and over the course of the last few releases the bulk of the content is coming together and shaping the game that the developers want to make. Each newer release brings more and more content closer to what the game itself will be at the "core" which will be 1.0. Will their be updates after 1.0? Of course the developers themselves plan to work on it for a while to come but for the most part the core of the game will not change radically 1.0 will be the bread and butter of what PR is and i'd imagine gameplay chances will be minimal-moderate after that as well as actual gameplay content etc. mostly i'd imagine after such would be maps and fractions past 1.0.

Yes this is what 1.0 likely will be a "full" game, the just of what the game will be and was meant to be.

You guys who say its just a number its much more than that, in my opinion, 1.0 has a meaning beyond what the beta versions have been.
