Yet another CTD on win 7

Post by coroneln »

Hello

Since 0.917 I been having crash to desktops very often, but since 0.95 It is hellish every 15 minutes I go down...

I have got like 4 memory.dll errors, and I found an entry on the event viewer ID 245, 107 Crashes to desktop since the 0.917

Every time it CTD it registers an Event on the:
Event viewer --> Windows Logs --> System:
Event ID 245
Application BF2.exe locked the primary surface 1 time(s).

I have tried:
  • Underclocking the CPU and the RAM
  • Clearing the cache folder
  • Clean installing 7
  • Clean installing the game
  • Removing 1 video card
  • Switching video cards
  • Downgrading NVIDIA drivers to 195
  • Turning off the page file
  • Increasing the pagefile
  • Enabling a RamDrive and putting the pagefile there
  • Ran Memtest86 after more than 20 hours told me my memory was OK
  • Ran Prime95 for 48 hours 8 workers (No crashes temp hoovering around 65c)
  • Deleting my profile and creating a new one
  • Removing some RAM of the system
  • Using default BIOS (Asus AI Tweaks / Manual lower values)
  • In game video settings to the lowest values
  • To the reccomended values
  • To the highest values
  • Enabling SLI
  • Disabling SLI
  • Praying to Buddah...
I have ran out of ideas except for trying installing XP and try to run the game from the same machine to see what gives...

BTW: It only happens with PR I can play Arma II, BF2BC2, COD Series for hours all maxed up and nothing

Life's journey is not to arrive safely at the Grave, in a well preserved body
But rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting... "Holly Shit... What A Ride!"
