Why all the lagg on the servers?

I would just like to know why every sever I have been on since the patch has massive lagg spikes all of a sudden?

Could be map or provider related.

Do you mean FPS lag where everything is slow?

Or ping issues where you shoot and your gun fires like 3 seconds later?

Well, most servers I see in the list are all 170-500 ms ping. There's only a handful which have proper 30-80ms pings, so I'm fairly limited as to what server I pick to play on.

It's not that I have a crappy connection either. Pretty standard 16MBit line. I live in the Netherlands.


Might just be that because this is a mod, most of the servers are hosted on home PC's instead of proper servers. The hardware might be up to the task, but if that persons internet connection is FUBAR.. it's no good anyway.

I don't know any servers that are hosted on a home PC as you put it, and, living in Sweden, I have a pretty high number of different servers (the UK ones, German ones, the eastern european ones, french ones, the swedish ones obviously, the list goes on) with 30-100 ping in Europe that I can choose from. They won't be all up at the very same time, obviously.

Not that I've ever considered any ping lower than 200 a problem.

EDIT: And I would also think that any lag issues or the like that are server side and are the same on a number of servers, and appeared when the patch was released....are related to the new patch.

I don't trust the ping in the server list. I just choose a populated server near me (US.)

yeah sometimes it shows 280, but when i join it runs fine

Yes must have been server issue because they are ok now.
