Stopping red boom booms

Post by LegioX »

Ok, heres the delima, I was once leading a squad, and we came across a big red semi driving our way. At first, it was like ok blow the sh*t up, but then we saw 3!! civilians riding in the back!! So the AT4 was a no-go. Next i tried to use the marksman to snipe the driver, but I swear the window's bulletproof!! Five perfectly placed shots didnt kill the driver! So yeah, we ended up getting blown up.
How do u take those things down when there are civies on it???

If it's barreling towards you looking to obliterate your squad, regardless of if there are civilians piled up in the back, I'd have my squad shoot the hell out of it with EVERYTHING they had (including the AT4)...

The way to do it is run and just keep running and go down allies and everything or just put and AT round into the bomb truck.

Just shoot it, you get enough intel points by killing Insurgents anyway, killing civilians really makes no difference other than making your spawn longer.

I thought when civilians used vehicles they forfeit the protection of the ROE for five minutes, or sixty seconds or somewhere in between.

they dont enter the vehicle per-se, but climb into the back

Cheap way of playing imo.

To bad, ruins the fun of the game sometimes.

always have a 50cal supporting your squad, its the most effective way of killing the driver, and can destroy the vehicle if necessary. a land rover/FOB 50cal position will do.

Yeah, I'd say if your life depends on it, then by all means light the thing up. After all, ususally printed ROE say something to the effect of "Nothing in these rules limits your right to take appropriate action to defend yourself and your unit."

Normally I try not to kill civilians but if it's either them or me then I would rather save my own arse.

if you make the truck explode, the driver of the truck kills the civis not you. just use bullets and avoid killing civis with your rifles and dont use AT.

it's an awesome tactic. too bad intel points are recovered so easily for blufor.

Those collaborators were clearly committed to dying for their cause. Their lives were forfeit the very second they passed the last point at which they could jump off. Taking the AT4 shot would have been the correct option to save you and your squad. In real life, a large truck charging a checkpoint at full speed couldn't possibly expect not to meet lethal force in Iraq.

Intel points are easily gained and technically not necessary, as insurgent teams never have enough fire or team discipline to avoid firing directly from or spawning on caches. Bluefor tickets (you and your buddies lives) are not replaceable, and should be protected as such.

It's unfortunate whatever the reason that a collaborator feels he can exploit the game mechanics and get away with it penalty free, but if they're going to, I never feel too bad slapping them back down.
Players might be hardcoded, but that sure doesn't seem to stop anybody from trying.

The only winning move is not to play. Insurgency, that is.

Get your automatic rifleman to put his whole belt into the driver. Should either kill him or force him to turn away.

To be honest I just kill every civi I see. The satisfaction of shooting one in the head with a 9mm outweighs the spawn time.

While I myself have done this a couple of times, this should be a bannable offense. Its strictly not in the spirit of the game nor is it in any form realistic. Plus if they couldn't be deliberately killed, the Specialist would be all the more important.

that is my experience also! if you make the vehicle explode, the vehicle damage will kill the civillians, not your gun damage. been testing that also.
