I tried to start making a map but I soon saw that BF2 editor is running very slow on my PC (or is it always like that?):
When I start it it takes around 5-10 min for start up (btw I have applied everything from:"Prepare your BF2 editor for PR mapping/modding") and when I click a lot of commands like textures you have to wait for a minute or something and it is really annoying.
Is it like that to everyone or just me?
PC Specs:
CPU:
Intel Pentium D 3.00 GHz
RAM:
3GB DDR2
Graphics card:
Nvidia Geforce 9600T 512mb up to 1GB DDR3

Re: BF2 editor very slow!
It does take a while to load, but that's a really long time there
.
Are you running the editor in XP compatibility mode? You could try, see if it helps anything.

Re: BF2 editor very slow!
Yes very slow, my old system was simular to your's and that wasnt that slow.
Try going into ModManager>EditorContent and untick some things that you dont need to load up.
Eg. if you're only placing statics then only load statics, if you're editing overgrowth then only load vegitation.
Sometimes you need to run more than one thing but most of the time you dont need everything loaded up.
Try Defraging your harddrive too and using a cleaning tool like Ccleaner. Seeing that you're using Windows 7 you can useGamebooster to free up some RAM.

Re: BF2 editor very slow!
As vapoman says, reduce the number of things you load and it will drastically decrease your loading times. Untick everything to begin with, then just set it to load only the things you're going to use every time
