Kashan Desert - Not enough of the map used..

Post by Swado95 »

In my opinion I think someone need to make a Randomize script for the order of the flags taken (for some maps). A lot times on Kashan Nobody (Unless its a good team) ever gets to fight at the US south village or MEC North village (thing thats what there called). It would make it more fun to fight on different land then the same old bunker (this applys to most other maps to except maybe Muattah city.

yeah. I kindof agree, but I have a feeling that that would kindof mess up the "frontline" mechanic that the current system implies. so for example, if the enemy has the bunkers (on kashan), and then there's a flag that becomes capturable behind their frontline (like village), then thats not really a fair fight, cause it'll be easier for them to capture it then the enemy.

I think a better solution would just to put in a ***-ton of new capturable flags on all the maps, and let the random objective script do the rest of the work. Also it would be nice if more maps featured a double capture, as in you have to take and hold two different flags to advance. (I'm not sure if this is already in game, for some reason I think the east and west beaches on that one map do this but I can't remember)

There's a couple of maps I think that have a really good dynamic flag system, I forget their names, but from what I remember its usually the maps with the russians on them. I never seem to always have the same battle at the same place on those maps, as opposed to maps like kashan and silent eagle where its ALWAYS bunkers (kashan) or village (silent eagle).

Hopefully one day they'll change up the flag location because i think it would be fun playing in the destructible village in kashan.

I think that PR needs more and more different maps! You can change flag locations and vehicle layout at old maps. You can realease MapPack. You can make, for example, Kashan Desert Day 2 with alternative flag zones and vehicles. Or Muttrah City Morning=) with no water and air units, but with light armors, with alternative flag zones. OMG, thats my dream!

Descriptive title is now more descriptive.

We played Command and Control on Kashan Desert last week, it was cool but we encountered this problem:
https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f257-v ... ntrol.html

I don't have anything to complain about the current flag layout on Kashan AAS, but maybe having the bunkers as one single objective would spread out the fight a bit more to other parts of the map.

Trust me you won't find it fun to play as infantry outside the bunkers on Kashan. With all those assets on Kashan infantry don't stand a chance without prober cover. I would love to see the small villages on Kashan grow a little with a few bigger buildings so infantry have something to hide in.

Actually yes to above post. For Kashan to be fun for Infantry outside bunkers, changes to the maps villages would be necessary. I'd like to see an elevated village that armour can't shoot down on.

AAS v.4 would be cool on Kashan IF there were flags out in the middle of nowhere that required a firebase with TOW missiles and HMGs. that would be a challenging defense!

Caves in the mountains would also be great, and instead of letting the villages grow, they could make more villages! (So you 'll get more objectives!)

No. no, nononono nooooo no no no :)

Kashan is the perfect template as to how a 4km map should be. Quinling and Wanda Shan are the polar opposite of this.

actually I have to side with you on this. but i wish there was more for infantry to do on kashan than hide in the bunkers. It works but its been working for too long. im not saying we should break it or anything. Im just feeling greedy :)

What, desert, hills and a few spots to hide in?

Underground tunnels and complex below the bunkers would be good.

On kashan, if you aren't in a tank... You aren't useful.

Since you put it so bluntly Outlaws, Wanda Shan/Quinling are waaaaaaaaaalking past treeeeeeeeees, with no real objectives other than two "Hill ###"'s which are seemingly thrown onto the map and are very far away from each other.

Kashan has a linear, multiple flag layout with additional landmarks which can be fought over. Said flags and landmarks are more or less within walking distance of each other (being South Village, South Bunker, North Bunker, North Village). The area which is not "used" is generally a transport/flanking route whilst the winfantry kids get to play in a smaller 1x1km area of the Bunkers in the centre of the map.

Not to say that Wanda Shan doesn't have that capability, but Kashan simply does it better.

I think that the bunkers should be expanded or that infantry battles must be fought out in the village, but also the village must be expanded.

I also hate that on Kashan you can see people 'trough' the hills at soem point because of the bad rendering (idk how to it's called)

YES, I agree 20000% with this topic title....the Main base is not NEARLY big enough, mainly the Airstrip......There is 1 run way for like 10 planes usually....The getting TKd rearming is getting sooooooooooooo annoying like noone could ever know. Between the MiGs, SAMs , BDRM AA and the Rearm TKs the A10s are soooooo very terribly frustrating to fly. Could we maybe put in another Airstrip or 2 and add more spots to rearm so that the Airstrip is not blocked. Im sure it is hard work but it would just so vastly make this map better. Also, might we add more hangars to get the F16 off the runway, also make the area left and right of the runway wider and more flat....the airstrip area is just plain to small.
