MAC & 1.4/1.5 patch

Im using a Mac using BootCamp and when I download the 1.4 and 1.5 patches they come up as an unknown file type that cannot be read. So I'm stuck here. I can play vanilla single player but I cannot get these patches to work. Any advice from you Mac users? I wanna play PR! Please help.

Please refrain from telling me to switch to PC. Im here for real assistance. Thanks a bunch ahead of time.

You will need patch 1.41 not 1.4.

Which windows did you install on BootCamp?
In windows installer files are exectuables indicated by their file extension ".exe". If for some reason that extension went missing Windows will tell you that it is an unknown file.
I am asuming you have downloaded in MacOS and transfered the file somehow to your Windows that is probably where the extension went missing.
You can either redownload directly in Windows.
Or rename the file and add the extension yourself. How to Change a File Extension in Windows

Anyways there is something wrong with the file and it might be corrupted so redownloading or at least checking the file for integrity is adviced.

Note: Some download managers will add their own file extensions (".part" for example) when the file is not yet fully downloaded. This might cause the same error message.
