Hi all,
it's time to post you some pics of mine new map in work "Sand Storm / Fallujah".
I'w created some nice sand storm effects with literally no frame drop (atleest on mine PC)
or this...
Some aditional custom effects are comming soon as well as some specific Objectives (if they will be doable)

Try and match the color with the sky/fog.

Looks like you used the "attack smoke grenade", the one that marks for the squad

Wow yeah nice work on the effects!
And uh... we like FX guys
Seriously... if effects is somethign taht turns your crank, we'd love to step it up a notch. We've added a bunch of effects to v0.4, but I'd really like to do more with the effects capabilities.
Explosion dust from a bridge ain't supposed to clear the air in 3 seconds hehe.....
Also .. er... most of what I have experiecned about the effects system in BF2 causing frame rate drop and such is poppycock... I've had some pretty nasty effects running on my system when experiementing with stuff. Hardly a noticeable issue on a medium spec'd system.
Ever play Operation Smoke Screen? It's basically one big huge black could of smoke.
EA / DICE are bound by the lowest common denominator of not wanting to stretch the engine's capabilties to avoid pissing off consumers. But quite honestly it's one of the most capable and untapped aspects of the engine imo. I actually think the effects subsystem has more capabilities than DICE tapped into, probably because of untested / unfounded concerns that it would chew up resources and create dissatisfied customers.

Hmmmm... Creative. Guess your spirits didn't dim when we told you a sandstorm wasn't possible. Anyway, nice job, good luck, and what are your system specs? Also, during a sandstorm, everything looks the same color, the sky, the terrain, so try to match the colors as close as you can.

Yeah, the colour could use a tweak, otherwise that looks awesome.

One question? I notice your graphics are very nice. (Mine suck.) If a person like me who has graphics on low or medium, can they see through the sand effect? It would really be cheep if some people can see stright through the dsand and others not...

Thanx 4 feedback..
As for colours, i guess that i was too eager to make that storm work that i overlooked colourmatching.
But that's mather of fine tuning that will come in the end couse theres stil need to adjust sunlight and fog as i wanted it and so on... no worry's.
Now comes making of the same effect with minefield explosions... (if i get'em to work)
Once again, thanx for positive feedback!
PS: someone asked for mine PC spec. A64 3000+, 1.5 GB, GF6800GT 256. and i ran my game on medium settings, ill set it to low to see if any impact on aperance of effect.

Some brief update.
16 Player version is more-less finished.
Some CP's that USMC need to Conquer.
CP Abandoned Village
And Canyon
Unfortunatly, in order to work properly, this map must be a part of "mod", i hope guyz from PRMM will find it worthy of their next version release.
