[Help] Custom Sounds for BF2/PR v0.957
I have downloaded some custom sounds for my personal use on Project Reality, and I know how to implement them into the game, my question is what quality do the sounds have to be in order for them to function right, I downloaded a custom m249 sound and it sounds fine when I shoot one bullet at a time, but when I go fully auto the first round you can hear the sound but for the next 9 you don't hear anything. Basically the sounds loops only every 10th to 15th round it fires, I don't know what exact round it loops at ,but it is in that range.
Is there a way I can fix that?
I use Wave Pad Sound Editor and have tried many configurations on the quality and still get the same result.
Is there a certain length the sound must be??

That Download Link on that website in unavailable for the program he posted. Do you have another link for it or the name of the program he posted, I downloaded Audacity but don't know how to add sound looping to it.

I'm afraid the other option is to get a copy of Sony SoundForge and do it the that way. I suggest to look through that forum about Regions.

You can have custom sounds? How do you get good ones?

Well I am Editing Project Reality for my personal gaming use, I do not recommend changing the sounds and try to play the game online, it may result in a kick or even ban off of the server because your copy is not the same as everyone else's. What I did is I installed Project Reality 2x, the first time after finishing the install I renamed the pr folder to pr_custom where I am editing the game and changing it for single player use only. Then I installed P.R. again which I use for online play.richyrich55 wrote:You can have custom sounds? How do you get good ones?
That being said where I get custom sounds from is, well I downloaded some custom sound from Counter-Strike and am changing the sounds in the pr_custom folder which I use for Single Player use only.
The reason why I had to be so detailed is because I do not want you to be kicked/banned off of any servers for trying to change the game contents.
I don't think the P.R. Team has a problem with you changing the Mod as long as you don't distribute it as your own. They worked very hard on creating it and did an awesome job at it, there are just a few aspect that I like to change in the game. Mainly I added a lot of Custom maps to the game that I like to play. And Changed a few weapon aspects my self.

Yikes that program costs $350, kinda much. Looks like I'm gonna have to stick to the original files then.[R-DEV]Chuc wrote:I'm afraid the other option is to get a copy of Sony SoundForge and do it the that way. I suggest to look through that forum about Regions.

Select the interval you want to loop, then go to the top slither above the timeline, right click, and click "Create Region" or something like that. The interval length depends on the rate of fire of the weapon the sound is intended for, so for example 900 rpm is 0.0667. (1 round every 0.0667 seconds)

Thanks man that worked awesome. Now one final question, What is the seconds setting for 600 rpm?
I successfully changed the M4A1 models sound, now I am planing on changing the AK47/74 models too but they are set at 600 rpm

Re: Custom Sounds for BF2/PR v0.957
Actually I figured it out. For anyone who wants to know how to set regions for certain rpm's, if you plan on using custom sounds and rpm settings. Its simple.
If you want to set it for 900 rpm, which means 900 shots per minute, so take 60seconds, which is one minute "obviously" and divide it by 900.
60/900=0.0667
If you want 600rpm's:
60/600=0.1
