DemoBookmarks

Post by marty6 »

Hi,

I was wondering if someone could help me w/ my server? I'm running a nonranked server, inwhich I have the sv.autorecord set to 1. So my server is saving the bf2demo files. Trying to create some good old short movies. Upon doing this I've noticed that none of the bookmarks are showing up in bf2 community section of the game client. The demo files are being saved in /mods/bf2/demos. I've read on a british website that a demos.con file needed to be added to the settings folder. So, I did that. The error log for the rotate_demos.py file still shows and error for the address for the ftp. Can anyone help me go through this step by step? Last night I went to EA's online help center and they told me that I had to look this problem up either in their forums or post a new thread. I thought that this issue was a 'technical' issue upon setting up the server in the software parts of it. I have read a lot of info covering this subject and have spent an entire week(...last week when I had the time) to get this to work.

Any help is appreciated!

The server machine has the following
1. It's behind a router
2. Windows xp OS
3. Running apache, mysql, and gaming server
4. All clients are able to connect to the gaming server. No problem
5. I'm collecting private states using brainpecker's webpage stats as well as bf2statistics.
6. I was able to sync 2 folders in order to get the bf2demo files to go to the webpage demos section for upload.
7. The rotate_demo.exe file does send the test file to the correct directory

I think the issue is with one of three files:
1. rotate_demos.py
2. rotate_demos.con
3. demos.con

4. Upload does fail on the server. Ftp is probably not setup correctly.

Solved the problem! Got it working for all mods! Please mark this post as solved. Thanks. marty6.
