[Static]Airport Flight Control Tower

Hey, this is my current project, im trying to learn how to model for bf2. It will eventually include a proper Airport Terminal, but thats later..... Here are some renders of what i have so far. Please post some advise and things that you see are wrong.

Here is the latest screenshots from the exported the static in bf2 editor.
To do list:
-Fix windows
-Fix(maybe redo) the observation tower
-Fix floor textures, they look shiny in the editor
-Fix some doors that dont look right
-Add detail, dirt, and crack texture layers to inside and the tower
-Add crack texture layer to outside of main building.
-LOD's

Looks good. I would have the doors seperate from the building though.

Im also abit confused on z-fighting, can someone explain what it is and it causes so i can avoid it?

looks like you have loads of faces facing the wrong way, hence why they are so black. Turn on "backface cull" in the objects properties to see how they truly look like.

I am not a modder or anything, but try using a more narrow piece of texture for the tower. Will try to draw some pix for ya, w8 a min

EDIT2: Ok, so the point might be, that if you have a texture like this:

You instead of using all of it

Image

which will end in texture stretching, use only a polygon similliar to what you are texturing, like this:

You have got quite a bit to learn still, mainly on the texture side of things. Try looking at other objects and see how they use the texture pallets and try and match that for bits that are the same on your object etc ;)

Good to see someone taking up modeling. We are in very short supply of good modelers these days. I think the first few attempts will be difficult and even frustrating to get right (to PR standards) but if you listen to Rhino and don't give up, the ones after that should go quickly.

There was a map assaulting a airfield in earlier versions. Called Airport I think from a SP pack.

You have some reffs on the inside room layout (how the rooms are arranged), or are you just making it up? Im just curious :)

Thanks for the tips and support, but ive run into a problem. When i collapse my unwrap uvw modifier it messes up the texture i put on. Here is some pictures:

edited your imagelinks so they use the 'direct links', its better without all the ads.
