ArmA II has a sort of prone-sprint thing (turned on by default) that does that. I believe if you are "walking" while prone your weapon will be out, a la Project Reality.

Anyway I'd support this change - but only if the devs found a way to make the player able to sprint while crouching or prone at the same time, which is likely hardcoded.

Hardcoded indeed from all we know, sadly. That's why we had to wait for patch 1.5 to have a proper prone-dive-workaround.

Can't be done in the engine to our knowledge, you know of a way to do it, then code it yourself we'd love the help.
