I'll be picking up my PC from the shop tomorrow, looks like they were finally able to finish the diagnostic. After all this time, it appears the processor is failing and was causing my problems.
I have ordered a replacement processor online, but it's slightly slower than the previous one. I don't have much money left, and would like to try buying a memory upgrade if possible.
Does anyone here know a good (reliable) place online to purchase some DDR PC3200 memory sticks, 2GB (2x1GB) in low-density? I can buy it from my regular sources for about $80 + shipping, but would prefer to find something under $50. Ebay is full of people selling HD RAM, which won't work with my mobo. But most prices for LD there are almost the same as buying from my dealer, only buying from Ebay offers no warranty and always the risk of "junk" parts.
I'd prefer someone CONUS but if not that's fine, as long as the shipping won't cost me my left nut. Any suggestions?
And yes, I've checked Newegg and Ebay, and Craig's List sucks.

Re: Need some DDR PC3200
Well, my replacement CPU arrived and it failed to correct the problem. At this point, the only two items that I haven't replaced are the memory and the DVD drive.
Not wanting to pay $80+ on new RAM, I'd like to pick up some used or very cheap new memory in hopes that it fixes the problem.
So, does anyone have 2GB (2 x 1024MB) of DDR PC3200 184-pin Low-density memory available? I don't mind paying for it, as long as the price is fair for the condition/age and manufacturer.
If 2GB isn't available but someone happens to have 1GB instead laying around I might be able to use that temporarily, at least to test the system and confirm the RAM is bad.
I can pay via Paypal, probably the simplest way to transfer funds. If you're CONUS, a money order can be sent instead if you don't have Paypal available.
I'd appreciate any help, the withdrawals of not having my PC for a year is really kicking me in the head already.

Re: Need some DDR PC3200
As long as they still function and are PC3200 (maybe PC2700 @ 2x512MB), then it should work to at least test my components and verify if the RAM is dead or if it's still something else.
With 512MB I obviously won't be able to load up any games, but it's still enough to test my system. If you have 2 of them, and if they fix the problem, then it might be enough to at least get me going until I can pick up something better.
Do you have 2, or just 1? What is their rating (PC2700, PC3200, etc)? Are they low-density? 184-pin? Where are you shipping from, so I can figure out shipping method and cost?

Well, I don't really know all these terms like PC2700 etc, but they're from 2005 or 2006, their height is smaller than the normal ones but they fit in the usual RAM connect-pins.

Re: Need some DDR PC3200
Hey guys. I have a problem.
Have down loaded and installed PR 9.5 from scratch.
I try to enter the game and I get this: Double click = PR opening screen comes up. (Dog tags)
Then after 5 sec, goes back to desktop
Then 2 sec latter up comes BF2 front page
(Back end of M1 Abram)
Then 2 sec latter back to desk top.
After this nothing?
Please help guys, I love this game and are a very disciplined unit who intends to return to the field.

I went ahead and ordered 2GB from Newegg for $59, closing thread. Thanks Central for the link, saved me about $15.
