TR,exe has stopped working

After getting a Trojan(And removing it) I went to go start PR like normal, except I get a message TR.exe has stopped working, then PR starts like normal and seems fine. I tried running TR.exe manually and setting it as administrator, but it still didn't work.

You can't, you have to reinstall.

Thanks for the Help John, I thought I would in the end have to do that, But I guess I would ask first.
I uninstalled and reinstalled BF2, the patches(Vista made it take about 1:30hr) and PR, ran it as administrator, and TR.exe still fails to run. Might be a registry problem? Think I will just try a system restore.

I also have this issue, though it seems to be more of a feature for me. After removing some malware (BackDoor-EXI.gen.e!F3 aka backdoor:win32/cycbot.b), tr.exe crashes behind the pr splash. The game (SP) plays as usual; odd thing is, some technicolour terrain textures i had been seeing (in lashkar valley i think it was) now appear properly textured..?

For good reference TR.exe is textures I believe, and the codes for Thermal and teh 3d Scopes...

3D scopes works fine, but not the Marker on the Compass, and some textures look weird. I tried a system restore but it failed after four hours of sitting on "restoring registry". And good Vista registry fixers? I hate using them though, always seems to mess up more.

I use Windows 7, and after connecting a new monitor (a TV) to my video card a few days ago, the tr.exe issue started happening to me.

The game runs normally; smooth. But the compass marker and the range indicator that shows up on the map always indicates 0.

System specs:

I am also getting tr.exe has crashed every time I launch the game. Not sure at all what caused it, used to work fine since the release of the last version.

Do any of you guys use Avast anti-virus? I fixed this problem (and a few others) by uninstalling the last Avast update which seems to conflict with the tr.exe and UDK.exe.

I updated Avast to 5.1.889 Version,To the problem.
It seems 5.1.864 There bugs.
