Another PR-doesn't-start-right thread.

Evening everyone,

When I launch PR.exe, I get the splash screen, which then disappears. The Steam-launching-BF2 window appears, and BF2 launches. But, no matter what I do, it launches as vanilla BF2 instead of PR, and activating PR in the Community->Mods menu fails, obviously, as it complains that I need to launch from PR.exe instead.

Troubleshooting information follows:

I have the steam version of BF2 1.5, PR 0.957 installed in the mod directory inside the BF2 directory in steamapps/common, as such: X:\Steam\steamapps\common\battlefield 2\mods\pr

My shortcut is: "X:\Steam\steamapps\common\battlefield 2\mods\pr\pr.exe" +modPath mods/pr +menu 1 +restart

With "Start In" as: "x:\steam\steamapps\common\battlefield 2\"

I've tried this with PR, BF2 and Steam all on/off Admin Launch and/or XP Compatibility.

I've launched BF2 prior to PR in order to create the profile files. I've even deleted them and remade them again. I also deleted the Settings stuff from the BF2 folder and checked the game on Steam to re-download the missing files.


Any help would be appreciated, and I'll provide any additional information required.

I've solved it, for anyone having my same problem:

Steam saves your launch properties, even if you delete the game and re-download it. I had launch properties still set from before that loaded another mod, when I removed them it was fixed.

I have the same problem, only I got to start PR - the dog tag start up screen will appear, only the game will not start.
I don't have BF2 through steam and I've been playing PR for a while now with no problems. I just started up the game yesterday and it wont start.

I'm running on Windows 7 64bit. I have looked around for a fix and found nothing.

I've installedd .NET, checked to run in service pack 3 and have even re installed.
