Cap the number of times a player can "give up"

I apologize ahead of time: I read the stickies and checked the *** list and came up empty on this one. However I can not rule out the language barrier problem.

I suggest that the Devs limit the number of times a player can "give up" and/or increase the ticket "penalty" for each time a player "gives up".

We all have seen rounds lost because of players giving up EVERY SINGLE TIME no matter the circumstances (Medic in squad / nearby). Those players aren't discouraged by the fact that they may have to walk quite a distance from the FOB to the front lines every time they give up. The loss of tickets doesn't concern them either.

I believe that this new concept (say "five strikes and you are out") will promote a high level of teamplay and good tactics (no more "human wave" attacks on caches etc.)

I think it would be better if you could give up only after 30 seconds of wounded time, and have that count towards your respawn timer instead

So over the course of 4 hours, a person gives up 5 times and they are kicked from the server?

What if they are teamkilled and there is no medic available?

What if they're literally forced to give up the greater good, EG to spawn at main and get a transport truck/logistics truck/asset? Should players be punished for contributing to the team by doing that?

Agreed, this is a much better suggestion.

I agree with the timer before you give up, but limiting the amount of give ups you can get? That is ridiculous, I have had rounds where despite our squad having a medic, we die a lot.

I agree with the Time limit until you are allowed to Give up . . .30 seconds until give up and 30 seconds before you spawn

Yeah I like the timer method, but I think that the tickets that you lose by giving up should increase every time you do so.

More problems than anything. The point of giving up is so that you can respawn again, and cannot be revived. If people are too stupid to realize that, well, there you go.

However, your respawn time should equal your "Cannot-Click-Respawn" time.

Lets say you were shot and wounded, and have a 30 second respawn time. Since you're still wounded, you have to wait 30 seconds befoer you can give up. Therefor, giving you an "instant" spawn.

it should be that if you push give up button you are forced to spawn at main.
because you died permanently.

So everybody then has to wait the bleedout time when wounded to spawn on a rally point, or firebase?

I like a no suicide before X timer.

Often I meet guys who just quietly respawn while the medic is trying to find them, plus on mumble servers it may improve the 'revived' by another sqaud scenarios that are great, but rare.

This is perfect. That way you can force people to learn patience and have a chance to be revived without punishing anyone for the wrong reasons.

Yes, we all have heard the "I am dead dead" lie and it really degrades teamplay ......

I like the system as it is simply because it is flexible. If people are constantly giving up, there is their fault and their team is punished. If a whole squad is stuck dead for 30 secs before they can give up it is going to make capping flags a lot easier on the smaller maps where you can simply take a huge swathe of ground by killing one squad, although I guess some may see that as a positive.

Another one of those silly suggestions where you are trying to enforce "teamwork" (can I really call this teamwork? because I can hardly see it connected to that word). The point is that good teamplay needs to be promoted not forced upon.

The timer is good, but like dtacs said, sometimes someone has to give up. What if your entire squad becomes critically wounded? Giving up is the only option.

A lot of medics dont even bother to get you back up, they just walk by, so this idea is very bad, big no-no. And if I'm alone in the desert (and lemme tell you it's often), having to wait for a medic to come (10 minutes), is NOT fun at all and will very shortly piss me off.

We don't have enought players to covert the ground. If we had 256, then would have more medics, and at all times 1 near you, but as it is, 32v32, its not possible.

Why not make a server side thing? Whoever owns the server can decide if they want to implement this feature .....

But what about like Dev1200 said where you cannot give up until your spawn time passes? This will force people to have a chance to be revived but if they aren't revived they still haven't lost any of the time they would have if they had given up, meaning that once they are allowed to give up they have an instant spawn.
