Game closes suddenly

Post by LightLiberator »

Usually after an hour or two of PR, the game goes back to desktop suddenly and closes, with no errors. Usually I'm in the map. (Not loading screen)

Specs:

ATI 5750
i7 870 @ 3.2 GHz
4 GB DDR3 RAM

Any idea why? Is it the ram?

Run as admin?

How hard would you play today, if you couldn't tomorrow?

Run in windowed mode and you will probably get to see the error message that causes the crash.
Best line yet...

Check for memory leak, that seems to be a problem lately. Try running in windowed mode to see if any error message does pop up.

I get this too. For me it is a memory error. When you see the loading bar pause ALT-TAB out of the game and you might catch the error, otherwise run in windowed mode too.

Cant seem to find the error, did you find a fix for your problem?
On some servers i can play for longer than an hour but if I play on my own i.e. local game the PC crashes after 1 hour every time

I know this might sound daft to you, but turn your texture settings down to medium/low.

i've been playing and modding bf2 for years. Since the demo came out. And Pr since 0.613 so here's a hint. Run as admin.. use medium textures.. if you have UAC on (User acount Control) turn it off and make sure your diretx x and graphic drivers are Up to date. Also.. what CPU are you using again? PR is very cpu relient and if you have a "****" cpu.. that just makes it worse.. lastely... IT HAPPENS.So you kinjda have to get used to it. Just do the things i said to maximize your stability. ATi and Bf2 are not always the best of friends but there is nothing you can do about that.
