New player needing help with microphone

Post by Slrig »

Hello, I recently downloading Project Reality, having lots of fun in it. But one of the things I've noticed is that when I use my microphone to speak to other people in my squad, they usually say its very low and its hard to hear me. I've turned up receive volume, and transmit volume up all the way, thinking it would help, but it seems to have done hardly anything.

I've actually tried using two different microphones, this one, and also this one.

Now I know they aren't the best of their kind but, I mean they should at least not be quiet, I've tried directly speaking in the microphone but it seems to have the same effect.

Anyone have any tips to boost the volume?

You want to boost the mic volume in your volume control settings.

You can click the speaker icon in the right hand tray on your taskbar or go to Start > Programs > Accessories > Entertainment > 'Volume Control' and adjusting the mic volume a little bit at a time until they can hear you better. Don't jack it up all the way at first though, don't want to blow out your squads ears.

Also it might help if you go to your sound settings in game and lower the 'effects' slider down to around 50-60% and keeping the voice receive at 100% to hear them better.

Thanks, it actually helped out a lot more.
