How the hell do you sign up to become a SL or commander for the PRT?

Post by NoxNoctum »

Obviously C9 is close to ending, but how do I sign up to be a squad leader or commander for C10?

Also, do the tournaments start at a regular time each year or not? It seems I always join mid-tourney so of course I'm just a grunt :p .

I dunno, I'd just like to be able to have some input on how things are run on my (C10) team.

Maybe you should post this in the:

http://tournament.realitymod.com/ forum

As this is the Project Reality : Realistic Gaming Redefined forum and is for the discusion of the mod.

A Administrator or Co or a team member might be able to answer you more easily there.
:)

But ill answer it. Usually COs and SLs are kept as a line of heritage down the line. And SLs are picked and promoted from NCOs and similar, im sure some SLs have been able to get in without taking those steps. But you have to understand that the teams in the PRT are quite set, and there is not as much rotation as one would hope/Belive.

Therefor one might say you should start at the bottom, and work your way up like everyone else. That being said, if you have the skills im sure any CO would consider you and offer you a job. As long as your able.

Thanks. Ya I know I coulda posted there, and I already signed up for "officer training" of some sort there but as you know the campaign's almost over.

But are you basically saying that "someone" keeps tabs on who's been in what campaign and how they performed etc. until a year later when the next one starts?

Oh ya, and again, is there a set time every year the tournament starts or is it basically random?

in you application, at the beggining at the campaign you say if you want to be an offcier. if you put yes you have a good chance of being an SL

Commander just comes over time

Yeah, the current command staff for each team....

You can't just walk in and become a CO/SL of a team, you have to earn it through a good reputation, skilled play and dedication to your team over a length of time.

No, not really.

That will only get you to the next post :-)

A good way to help is to come with some intelligence and tactical input for the upcoming battles whilst being active and helpfull around your squad - platoon - team in general.

Oh I already do that, maybe too much =P.

It's just that EVERY SINGLE tourney I ALWAYS miss the initial sign ups which means there's no shot of being SL or even NCO. (I wouldn't really want to be CO or XO was just asking)

It's almost always filled up within a day or two it seems... really annoying for me :( .

I am pretty sure that even if you join mid-campaign you can become NCO or SL. NCO I am pretty sure as there can't be too many qualified squadleaders to hop in to replace a LOA SL or if somebody is sick or whatever :)

I got my ranks most of the time during the campaign...

Just work your way through the ranks, if you're right for the job then you'll get promoted to NCO, maybe SL and through. Really this should have been done on the Tourney forums, not the main forums as Wicca said.
