New Machine!

Post by Swe_Olsson »

My gaming rig died last week. So I ordered and paid for a new system today. Currently awaiting for the SSD to arrive, but other than that it's fit for fight.

Any comments? Any changes you would make? changes are still possible

500GB Seagate Barracuda 7200.12
Corsair SSD Force Series 60GB 2.5"
Intel Core i7 2600K 3,4GHz
Corsair 8GB (2x4096MB) 1600MHz VENGEANCE
Logitech G930 Gaming Headset
XFX Core Edition 850W
Corsair Graphite 600T Svart
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit Engelsk OEM
Gigabyte GeForce GTX 570 OC 1280MB
Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus

Very nice choice of parts. Only thing I would change would be the power supply, I'd go with either a XFX Black Edition 850w or 750w. My OCD demands modular supplies, plus it's also more efficient and I believe can output a lot more power when necessary. I read a review that managed to pull over 900 watts out of a 750w black edition. Another good choice would be a Thermaltake Toughpower XT 775w, though it's up to you if you can stand the color. ;)

Thing is i am not in need of a modular chassi as it's closed up ( no peeks inside ). Airflow should be fine as is. A problem i may run into is over heating due to low rpm fans. Ill see if I can replace them at a later stage if needed...

Computer is being assembled now, should have it within 10-14days! Bought a new mouse and cleaned my logitech g15.

Would it be worth investing in a 24" screen? if so, which brand and model should I pick?

Looks like a good build. As for the screen, a 24" would be nice. I love getting bigger screens. I recently got a 27" that made a world of difference in my gaming.
Something something build a fob.
