PR wont start plz help

Im running vista 64 ultimate

I have run PR for a while now on that computer but just recently i went out and bought BF2 again because it had the expansions included and was in sale.
I have installed BF2 , patch v1.50 and then part 1,2,3 PR setup exe.
I click on the PR logo and it starts loading up and i see the small black Sand studio logo before it is about to load up to the game but then it goes back to desktop without any errors.

Please help

I suggest that you unistall everything and then remove (or rename) the old bf2 folders before you reinstall the BF2 and PR again.

Tip: I recomend you to disable UAC (User account control) prior to installing the games or run the install as administrator.

But I am really curious why you went out and bought BF2 again? I thought they released all of the expansions for free in the 1.50 update of BF2? I might be wrong on this one though (I never or rarely play BF2)

I didnt even realise they were free now LOL.. havent played BF2 in about 6months.
So eager to play PR though.. always hated Vanilla

Ok , so i have un-installed BF2 and manually deleted the EA GAMES folder and then re-installed everything.. but to no suprise.. da dah .. STILL not working..

Anyone running 64bit vista ultimate havin any similar problems???

If I remember it correctly you need to install patch 1.41 prior to 1.50. I dont see that you have done that?

1. Disable UAC or remember to run everything as administrator
2. Install game from cd
3. Install patch 1.41
4. Install patch 1.50
5. Install PR part 1, 2 & 3

Launch Issues: The most common problem with BF2 is that the game crashes to desktop or goes to a black screen when you first launch it. The reason for this is either incompatible hardware (make sure you meet all of the minimum specs for the game), or more usually the fact that you're not running at the default refresh rate of 60Hz. By default the game tries to launch at 800x600@60Hz initially, so your system must be able to run that same resolution and refresh rate, otherwise the game will abort. If you are using any other refresh rate, or a refresh rate override program/method, disable it (e.g. if you're using Refresh Force, click the 'Restore Original Settings' button and apply) or set it back to 60Hz for both 800x600 and your chosen gaming resolution. Alternatively, see the Advanced Tweaking section of the guide for details on how to set a different startup resolution, in case your graphics card/monitor simply cannot do 800x600@60Hz resolution. Once you've got the game running, you can then change the resolution to suit your taste in the in-game settings, and importantly you can select a higher refresh rate. Then you can reapply any refresh rate override and the game will launch without any problems. To set a non-standard resolution see the Advanced Tweaking section.

If I remember it correctly you need to install patch 1.41 prior to 1.50. I dont see that you have done that?

1. Disable UAC or remember to run everything as administrator
2. Install game from cd
3. Install patch 1.41
4. Install patch 1.50
5. Install PR part 1, 2 & 3

Sorry i didnt mention, but yes i have done all steps including installing 1.41 then 1.50 and i am the only user as admin , also UAC has been turned off when installing both times and same problem.

Guys i thankyou for taking the time to help and give suggestions but weirdly enough im still struggling to get it working.

Nope this didnt work either.. i have Un-installed and re-Installed about 4 times and i have run PR on this computer before.
I am running a 1500 pound computer and this plays everything so i know its not the computer.
It has been fully updated Direct X , Windows updates etc..
BF2 is playable when i install it + 1.50 patch, but then as soon as i install PR patch it wont start..

Im stuck and i dont think there is a solution

ok so resolution is 800x600 and i am going to re-download all patches for the 5th time.. then i think ill give up after that if i have no luck.

That is what you should change
BF2 tries by default to run 800x600 but if your screen and system dont allow it it will crash.
Set it to your screens correct resolution and correct refreshrate.

Just change the resolution to the same resolution as your monitor. I think it'll work.

Are you deleting your BF2 folder inside your documents folder as well?
