I am using a US army ACU mod for VBF2 and im trying to modify the US spec ops kit so that it uses the geometry of the MEC spec ops, when I tried to change the line in the kits server file it would crash my game with no error message, how would I do this?

you could create a new US specops kit by editing the existing MEC kit, basically by copy and pasting things from one to the other.
for example: rename the MEC specops kit to whatever the name is of the US specops kit.
add usrif_m4, uspis_92fs etc. to their respective weapon slots and drag the finished kit to the kits folder.

I happen to also be using the USMC textures from the same folder, and they dont like berets, so would I be able to ADD a new kit?

I'm afraid I don't understand your second question. do you want to create custom geoms? or do you want to create a new kit with a new name (possibly selectable from the spawning interface)? both are possible but I can't help you as they require more in-depth knowledge.
you could as well mess around with existing kits, I don't like vehicles so I edited some maps for singleplayer to only have humvee's and vodnik's/nanjing's. That way AT and engineer kits were unnecessary so I edited them to other roles.

I want to add a NEW kit to the US team using the MEC geometry. Now I thought that I could add a new kit to the MEC kits server file that used the same geometry as their spec ops then just gave it a new name and then gave it the usrif_M4 and uspis_92fs, So I took the MEC spec ops, changed the weapons to the m4 and m9 and then renamed it MEC_USARMY and added it to the MEC kits folder. After doing this whenever I loaded a map it would crash without giving me an error message. Do you know what is wrong and how to fix it?

allright now this is language I understand, next time post this info when you start a thread please
anyway I'd suggest you to replace the original us_specops.con with your new specops kit. that way you don't have to change any lines in all the maps init.con's. of course make backups of the original us_specops.con.
this is the easiest way to change kits. I don't know if you edited maps init.con's to use your new specops kit, if you did I assume you made an (typing)error somewhere, I recommend you to remove your current mec_usarmy.con and start again in the way I suggested above.
