bots arent as good as humans, they don't take cover, they run towards you firing etc :)

gives you an advantage

i believe bf2's hit detection is much better on a local server than online, which leads to more hits being registered.

There is a possible difference in RoF and recoil(or deviation) between local server and dedicated due to different FPS(on dedi it is locked on 30fps).

Hit detection, I once saw a guy that got headshot 3 times w/o takin damage :D also when uve got like 120+ ping the recoil increases too, its hard to explain but, the recoil on local is much lower, atleast on full auto.

It's partially hit detection, which is more reliable in co-op because your ping doesn't change, partially server framerate which is much higher in co-op, and therefore reduces deviation faster.

The way BF2 handles interp isn't great. Where you have to aim on a moving target varies from behind to in front based on your ping. While it's possible to learn almost any aiming system almost perfect as long as the point of aim is determined by gameplay factors, having one which varies based on your ping as much as BF2's does makes it a downright nightmare.

Deviation only adds to it.

when another player is running, their hotboxes drag behind them because of the flow of information. a player's direction can change at any given moment and i think dedi servers are programmed to encorperate that. where on coop or single player, the bots dont need to be second guessed. when they move in a certain direction the computer doesnt have to guess as to whether the entity is going to move erratically and compensate for it, so the hit boxes are more stable, and they dont jiggle around. thats my assesment of it.

- Don't walk while shooting
- Wait a few seconds before shooting once you stopped walking
- Don't shoot too fast; you don't need to wait three seconds after each shot, but one won't hurt

- Crouch. Or go prone. Going prone means, however, that you really, really shouldn't be moving around. Only use prone when you're gonna stay where you are for a while. In doubt, it's better to shoot while standing than to prone-dive and then shoot.

-NEVER prone dive in front of an enemy in a close quarter battle (CQB) situation. You will find, if he's smart, he will open up on you, while crouching, while your shots go everywhere. If you see someone right as he sees you, crouch, aim, and fire in bursts (unless in ridiculous distances like 10m).

I can say this from experience- I've come across people, in close range, that will prone dive. Every time, I've been able to kill them in a quick burst while they never get a shot off/ miss every shot.

Do hit boxes still drag behind while players run? I was under the impression hit registration was fixed a lot more a patch or two ago from BF2 and isn't as bad as the old days.

@ MiamiHeat87
thats a good question.
knowing where to shoot would be nice.

i sucks when your in the possiton for a perfect shoot / enemy dont realiz you are there / you have time to aim - and then - not a single bullet hit them....THIS IS NOT FUNNY
