I think i cooked my sound card [Fixed]

Post by Fatal-M »

Hey guys,

Gonna try to make this as simple as possible , i relocated to another country about a week ago and i ended up taking all my PC hardware with me and left my case behind , so yesterday i bought a new case and i started installing all the hardware back in , everything was fine up untill i was done and one of those metallic pieces that usually cover the back end side of the case for the PCI cards slipped and fell on on the bottom of my sound card (where you see all the electronics) and i saw a little light flash , the light on the X-FI turned off and the sound card stopped working , nothing burned and smoke DID NOT come out it was just a quick flash that i saw when that little metal piece touched the sound card..

so is my sound card gone for good? im taking it today to an electronics engineer to see if it can be fixed i just wanted to see what you guys think....

Sound card is a Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Champion Series

Thanks!

[UPDATE] i already knew that no one was going to reply but i gave it a shot anyways. i took it an electronics department in a local company and they fixed for me within 30 minutes.
