I suspect there might be a setting I can change in Windows 7 to fix this, but I don't know what it is. Anyone else had this issue?

Atl-tabbing back to game is slow
I used to run XP and BF2
R just fine. Alt-tab was quite snappy both ways. I recently installed Windows 7 and now I can alt-tab out to the desktop quite quickly, but getting back to the game takes like 8 to 10 seconds.

What is your computer setup? And are you using 32 bit or 64 bit?

Re: Atl-tabbing back to game is slow
I am running 64 bit Windows 7 Professional on a Macbook Pro with a 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo, Nvidia 320M, and 4 GB of RAM.
This issue really bothers me because if I alt-tab out to Teamspeak to make a quick change it takes about 30 seconds to get back in, and thirty seconds is a long time if your squad is getting attacked or mortars begin raining down.

possibly something to do with Superfetch.
I had problems on my laptop trying to switch between programs because the RAM was too low (2GB) after a RAM upgrade to 4GB it turned out that the whole setup needed just 2.5GB RAM. But because the 500 MB were missing Win7 kept putting programs into the pagefile. My laptop's HDD was constantly flickering the system was very slow.
PR uses a lot of RAM if your HDD is slow and the pagefile access is excessive then you are in for some good waiting for your system to respond.
So either get an RAM upgrade, faster HDD or simply try to close as many unneeded programs as possible.

I'de recommend Game booster, it closes all unnecessary applications and is safe to use. It just might speed up your alt-tab and give you some more FPS.

i had a slow-alt tabbing issue and i think it was due to using old drivers. make sure u have the latest driver which should be like 270.xx or 275.xx.
