Artillery needs delay
I'm going to make this short, but artillery needs delay. The intervals between artillery strikes are way too fast. In real life, if arty is used, it wouldn't be used every second, but only at times where it is most needed. Because I think it's expensive to constantly barrage for small targets. So, either we limit the amount of arty to be used on a map or dramatically increase the loading time.

I think that's a bad idea. There is already a delay based on the time it takes the commander to approve the order and the guns to fire. The game moves at a MUCH faster pace then real life and any more delay on Arty will make it almost useless. As it is you already have to anticipate where the enemy is going to be.

I'd like to see a little longer delay to...to account for the guns being dialed in. Also, I dont know if fire for effect is needed in todays arty which would show up as one spotter round preceding the barrage.
But, Id like to propose that arty guns themselves be removed from the map and just be present "off map" for called in strikes. Arty shooting skyward (straight upwards) seems silly.
Frankly, I would mind seeing arty gone all together but if it remains, how about having in coming in with a delay, off map from the area of its team main base in an arc fashion and not straight down.

That learning curve will expire and more people will know its there so that doesnt hold up. Where it is included, it just needs a little delay IMHO. Again...a step, albeit miniscule, towards realism...which some are opposed too oddly enough as fans of a reality mod.Malik wrote:Artillery's no real problem. It's rarely used in most games, most people don't really understand that it's still available, and on most maps it's not even included. I think it's fine.![]()

I agree. Would be nice. Another thing I think is that once arty is destroyed, it is gone for the rest of the game. Engineers should not be able to repair it. Going behind enemy lines to destroy it should yeild more positave results for your team then it currently does.
