Platinum thank you...
I think it was needed to be explained if you want to introduce X-Wings and Mammoth Tanks or a new kind of gameplay. As you say its the second.
So I dont have any more questions.
And good luck for you.

@CAS you didnt had to "avoid".
It was just a question (and as you saw it "helped" to clarify some things) .... not an AMRAAM

I prefer to just avoid starting a flame war, which is often how stuff like this goes. So maybe I am just paranoid.

Well CAS i think you misunderstood some things.
(Maybe its my fault because my english sucks)

Its not that i dont like your mod. I never said that.
The problem is we have too many "Aces" in PR.
In start of every round is like a massive migration to the airports.
Team kills, nerves etc just for a jet or a helicopter.
I just dont like the idea to give them something more "attractive" or powerfull.
If it was you, Alex or someone else who has respect for the other players its OK.
But not every monkey with a joystick.

I understand your point.
Yes Tactical Skill > Technical Skill (Most of the times)
And yes as an idea sound brilliant.
A tactical shooter which needs more use of braincase than fingers is something nice.

But you have to understand that the "presentation" you made of your mod has nothing of your rule.
I mean .. look at all the videos posted.
Tanks, planes, planes, planes and planes.
I know that is the first part of your mod. And you have ideas for infantry.
But right now how they can attract a tactician?
Mostly will attract monkeys i said before.
Yes in the future they will be disapointed and leave but not before they give to your work a name like "Banana mod"

You probably dont care. You propably complete this mod even if you play it alone.
I respect that. I always respect men who dont sacrifice their pleasure for others' pleasure.
Thats why i am telling you all these.
Maybe i look like an enemy but i am not.

there actually is a presentation of tactical>technical skill. unedible uploaded a video with a tank battle on desert rats, and in it 3 abrams go down getting only 1 kill. MEC has one the encounter not because they had better aim, but because they were in a better position, were constantly on the move and used effectively FCS.

Dont forget people that CA will provide workable ideas to the PR Devs. The best part is that the Devs will be able to see those ideas tested down to the nitty gritty during CA matches and tests to see what things work well with game play and players and what things don't. In the end I will be very surprised if there aren't at least a few things from CA that make it into PR (Check out the FLIR if you haven't already thats one thing i would LOVE to see in PR) if not more than a few.

Teamkilling and fighting over jets is every in no matter release. From virtual experiences, I've had witness and been threw more teamkills in BF2 than pr over an air asset. Unncessary arguments is in everygame no matter what circumstances.Once again something you can't control unless your admin =) .The whole thing about attraction is seriously not a issue. We're not looking to cause a whole revolution between PR and CA or gain a big population. Some guy who usually plays Arma is intrested in our mod. That's cool but not something to be excited about as were not even half way done with the ideas and features planned. Sorry your not intrested....maybe in the future you might change your mind. I'm on a school field trip and must go. Any more concerns reply away!

Nemus. We're doing a larger scale test this weekend (Friday and Saturday at 18:00:00 GMT) . Please come and try out the mod with other people.

But since you ask, I think that people from the sim community will be attracted to this because the systems we have give similar capabilities. A flight simulator is limited by the fact that there are no other humans in the world to interact with, so all that technical skill is for nothing. But give a tanker, a troop, or a pilot a chance to interact with his counterparts and that makes it much more interesting. So sure its less technically realistic than a flight sim, but I think tactically it is more realistic because of the addition of the human interaction. I mean in a flight sim, immersion is almost nil because you are perpetually aware that majority of anything in the world is an AI. In games like arma and pr you are much less aware that you are in a game because you are communicating with other humans in real time.

This just about sums us up, oh and every other guy who likes flying.

Seriously now, its not for everyone, its not being forced upon anyone, but I respect opinions much more that have some backing to them. You are entitled to your own, but before criticizing its best to actually watch the film rather than make decisions from the 1 minute trailer.

We figured it was best to leave it that way to make pilot ejection easier and to trick the enemy. :p

Ever been on TOP GUN at SIX FLAGS? The F18 is modeled after that, allowing your legs to dangle and really feel the joy of flying.

I'm having a blast flying around blowing stuff up with the harrier, I love it.

Though are the bombs supposed to float?

That's one Faildam :P

Well, If they have the speed, they should be able to fly pretty level with their fins, but since you were hovering... :p

Though, I doubt this will ever be exploited. With Radar equipped AA and enemy jets in the air, you've got just as much chance as the entire opposing team spontaneously dying as surviving long enough to bomb while in a hover like that :/

Don't see how flying slower is an exploit. That's like... a handicap.

Could be very useful for dogfights but on the downside you are extremely vulnerable to ground fire.

Downside is by the time you slow down by any appreciable amount, you'll have respawned.

You need to see the missiles in action and try to evade a few before you understand what I'm talking about. We are hitting missiles with other missiles and those missiles are hitting the plane that launched them in the first place, even though he turned around and ran away like a *****.

Exactly :D

Funny talking to everyone in the UK about the holiday, since we get the day off to commemorate their queen, yet they don't.
