- Mines. Just stand over a mine and right click (by default, doing that to grenades drops them on the spot incase you didn't know
). Tanks can avoid these much easier and it'll make it easier for engineers to defuse them. - Distractions. Pop some of these near the enemies and they won't know what to expect, especially if it's a red one. Red's got to be bad!
- Air strikes. If you want a bombing run done, just throw some of the nades in the position you want and call a nearby bomber. I'm sure they'll be thrilled to see you've so kindly given them something to do.
- Marking movement. Of course they'll still be used for this, but you can't just make them appear any more. This is BF2 not Harry Potter. A squad leader will need to plant his nades carefully and he can even lay trails for other squads too and stuff. It really assists communication. Use your imagination!
I think it's a pretty cool idea, just make sure you turn up the smoke height a little and put a time limit on their use so they can't pump smoke out forever. What does everyone else think?
