You said the keyboard was more accurate? Ive tried many times with keyboard or mouse but it sucks. It may be more responsive but it its a hell of a lot less accurate. Maybe its your joystick? Also in a realism based game you are using a keyboard, that kinda a cheater way to do it. Maybe you learned with a keyboard so thats what your used to, but for me I fly simulators in Aviation Class so joystick is all I use. Plus panning the mouse around gets really annoying.mat552 wrote:Nothin' beats a good keyboard. I've borrowed joysticks from friends and tried to fly with my mouse, still nothing more responsive than my g15 gen1 keyboard. So much more precise than the other options, my only complaint is the lack of throttle, but even still, the way PR aircraft work, 100% all the time works just fine unless you're landing.

I agree...smee wrote:planes joystick
helo mouse.
with the helo , my thrustmaster seems to get confused when I used twist rudder and turn Roll.

I agree with most of what you just said. The only reason I call it cheap is because it is a realism-based game. In real life helos arent controled with a mouse. This is a pretty obvious point.McLuv wrote:I prefer flying with a joystick personally, with both helo's and jets. Yes, it's true that you can get more accurate fire with mice (pin pointing your cursor directly onto the enemy), but that's not to say you aren't accurate with a joystick. Plus, using the joystick allows for constant input at whichever level between 0 and 100 % you want.
Hovering becomes much easier, and I find my best evasive and offensive maneuvers in Air to Air combat with helicopters has been with the joystick. It's a much smoother experience as well
But I don't see how using a mouse could be considered "cheap". It's all about personal preference, and they both have advantages and disadvantages. But even though I was an avid mouse user in the 0.75 days, since I've been with a joystick I can't really go back. It's not quite like learning how to bicycle, though practice makes perfect, because you really seem to get used to one type of input method.

Good point Elvish...'= wrote:H[=ElvishKnight;1053205']Theres alot of things in pr that still dont match to realism, like we dont use keybards to drive or run, or mouses to shot for that matter. Some things are just easier for ppl. Jets I fly with joystick everytime but I feel I have more control over my helis with a mouse. In the end it is still what results you get that matters.

Yeah I suppose if you earned that way joystick would feel weird. I learned with a joystick on flight-sims, to me the mouse/keyboard feels so very un-naturaldriver-ch-driver wrote:ive always flown everything with a mouse, a mate of mine has a joystick so ive used it a couple of time but it just feels awkward because im so used to the mouse.

Same! yeh mouse & keyboard feels really wrong.LUKE_NUKE_EM wrote:Yeah I suppose if you earned that way joystick would feel weird. I learned with a joystick on flight-sims, to me the mouse/keyboard feels so very un-natural
