well said...but incorrect. the insurgents, need to utilise their surroundings. thats the key. you can kick *** if you take advantage of your strengths, such as mining the hell out of bridges, main roads, mountain paths. you just gotta be there before the americans and you will have an overpowering advantage. they cant lift your bombs, you need to take advantage of that.

and yes, you must adapt and overcome, thats the whole point of the game.

Wow. First time in all my time playing has someoen actually tried to arrest me! The putting hands up really works well! Baiting the silly BLUFOR is much much easier now! Since none of them want to play as the guy that has the shotgun cause they dont get their magnified scope, they can only arrest you with zipties.
I also LOLd when I saw two civies with their arms up in front of a tank. Dunno why he didnt just run them over.
Also, when I was running as a civie, i noticed a lot of my team had been picking up BLUFOR guns.
Yea, them being able to START with a scope LMG sucks. But it isnt THAT hard to kill him and use it for ourselves.
About the borked up insurgent guns. It is REALITY that a mukked up AK isnt as accurate as a well maintained AR. That is just a cold hard fact. But when done right, insurgents can easily take out a wondering BLUFOR team. I was a civie, and saw a brit pop up. I put my hands up and he didnt shoot at me, but started comign towards me. But then an insurgent LMG came out of the "mawsk" and took him down.

BLURFOR can complain as much as they want about civilians and all that. But remember. You have better guns, better equipment, and you have TANKS and APCs! You still definately have an advantage if you play smart.

Actually they CAN lift up mines. The engineer can easily. I am not sure on the ieds though. But those are pretty small, and easily go unnoticed, or useless due to killing the sapper.
A well maintained blufor squad can easily take out a dug in insurgent team. People just need to be willing to forgo their snipin' urges and NOT pick the scoped rifles. A breeching slug will take out that annoying collaborator easily, get you a kill point, and +10 intel!

thats always the same result on the first few weeks of new releases. Ive been here from 0.5 til now and every release is the same as far as the first days go. Give the release 3-4 weeks and lets see how those numbers on the servers are. That'll be the true sign of something good. All this whining must be pissing you mods off.

My opinion for the next patch is to take away the scopes from the AR kits. Having every squad running around with a AR is a advantage enough but on certon maps and game-types it really sucks for the team without the scopes. Insurgency maps are just brutal on dangerously open maps like Op Archer. Today on Op Archer they had 2-3 AR infantry from the U.S. team sitting on the mountain top and they were just taking out everybody. The Taliban without any scopes except for snipers. It was a huge disadvantage as smoke screens were put down but that just prevented us from trying to shoot at them back. With a AR they can just spray the area and smoke screens are useless. I was in a squad and we were moving away from the hill on the opposite side of the village which was more than 500+M away from the hill and were still being targeted by the AR guys on that hill and still at that range they were really accurate.

Had to put up constant smoke screens just to move anywhere and regardless thanks to how much ammo the AR can shoot out. All they had to do was spray the area and usually they would get lucky and tag a couple of guys. I am sure its a lot of fun for the other team however its extremly annoying for the opposite team on these maps. Anybody that honestly believes that these wave of scopes AR kits are the greatest. I invite you to play the Taliban on Op Archer Insurgency Mode on a server with players who know what they are doing on both sides.

Skirmish ruined ... (but I found one solution if server passworded)

And even on large maps LMG rules the field

I appreciate what you're saying, c'mon man you stood a bit of a chance to engage the Bluefor at medium range, sometimes herding them towards ambushes, now there is no Long to medium range engagements possible - i'm pretty much CQB specialist and now everything is stacked in favour of the all awesome bluefor machine, seriously if you just want cannon fodder make the game co-op against bots. i've being playing ins from its first release and have been through all the different inceptions of the game mode, instead of meaningless animations like hands in air, do something usefull like giving them some virtual KY cause its gonna hurt..

edit : infact I think i'll just wait for the community PMC mod, while these changes may be reailstic, piting a conventional army against such a poorly equipped faction = fodder & not fun, i'll wait till the odds are a bit more balanced

Love this release, lots of good changes. Sad to hear about issues with insurgent RPG, but I have faith that will be quickly fixed - I haven't personally witnessed the problem.

Been screwing around with my precious AH-6 - and there are some very noticeable changes that aren't in the changelog. You appear to have upped it's max speed by about 100kph, which is nice, the thing felt a hair slower than it should before. But you also toned down it's handling by a LOT. The thing flies more like a huey than a LB now. I suppose I can live with that - it may have been a touch too agile before, but still. . . :sad:

As for the hydras, I can definitely agree that they're far more realistic now. And any loss in accuracy or rocket speed I'll gladly accept with the higher damage and splash radius they seem to have acquired. Love it.

how can anyone say the colab/civis are useless they are the NEW 2nd FORM OF COVER! they wave they dancwe they party hard and when the guy behind themgoees down they heal him, if in a firefight the civi crawls to medic ppl up this is awesome and all it took were some hands no drastic changes also he can use guns so basically this rules, love the AR dominated gameplay we have now every squad has a pivotal point o movve arnd! nice RPG's = shit this is major bad they need a fixin .

It's great.
I love the Lynch rockets. They sound amazing. They scared the shit outta me, when i heard them the first time.

But I am confused about the fact, that I was able to shoot while standing with the deployed LMG. Is that normal or a but?

-That is the point. You can use it standing/crouched/prone so you can actually fire through windows and so on. It's got a 6 sec zeroing timer and you can barely move when zoomed in.

I just had the best round of Fallujah West ever.

The update is pretty awesome so far. The AR really brings some great firepower to the squad.

I love this version, very very much :) . HOWEVER the AK-47 nerf was a little too much, maybe 15% to 20% would be enough? I feel like I'm playing 0.8 again when I use it :-P
