It's not that funny at all.JohnDoeGamer wrote:ROFL
If you play public most of your team are far away from well trained and organized behavior on battlefield. Even in a clanmatch you have to work hard to not loose the overlook even WITH a minimap to help you.
If we want a less arcade like battlefield simulation with the "feeling" of a real firefight then taking out the minimap will be a disaster. Thats my prophesy.
90% of your mates (and for god sake this is a online shooter with thousands of greenhorns) will loose orientation and stray for the next best action they encounter. On the other hand, you can see this minimap as compensation for some disadvantages you encounter when playing a computergame (e.g. all-looking-same avatars, 3D-orientation, well known teammates with real combat experience, and so on).
Taking out the at a first look unrealistic minimap will be a step in the wrong direction. You will encounter LESS real looking firefights and LESS tactical behavior! Thats what I can say for sure.
Besides of all this, it is just way more fun to know where my mates and friends are on the map. It is way more stressless to look on minimap and know where my injured mate is or where I have to deliver my supply bag or where I have to position myself or my squad perfectly. A GAME should make fun!
