PR as a base for other BF2 mods

This is just a random Idea I had after seeing new BF2 mods come out, the thing about new BF2 mods are they are BF2 mods, after playing PR for so long no one really wants to go back to Vbf2 gameplay, and now there is Combined arms, its pretty much a new mod on the base of PR if you haven't played it yet.

So that makes me think why not other mods? I seen that new Omnicide mod that came out for BF2 and I was thinking how much better the mod would be if it was built over the PR and other mods like AIX etc.

What do you think about this idea?

well combined arms is hopefully a testbed for things that might not ordinarily be considered for PR,

but there is a 'cold war' mod around here somewhere, but I don't think it really took off.

if this was to be done, it would be community made, not the DEV's primary concern since they have enough to do to get PR to 1.0

Personally... it'd be kinda cool ;)

A mod for a mod? Makes things a little more uniform, allowing access to more PR related items easier than ever....

More like a "what if" scenario really (IRC was the point), like World In Conflict.

Yeah there are a few out there. As explained before like Combined Arms and a Cold War MiniMod I haven't heard on much.

The concept sounds good but the DEVs have to worry about PR before the other mods.

Well I agree to an extent, I think it would be awesome to have FH2, EoD, USI on pr's game play, but thats just not going to happen as they can do what they want with their mods. The thing it comes down to for me is how much PR differs from 'nilla, probably the mod with the most changed and unique, so when playing other mods (no disrespect) you just dont get that feeling of something different. ( Although I am a big pirates fan :p )

I my self would love to see EoD based on PR's realism... :D

Omnicide (Or any Zombie mod) with PR weapons/deviation/animations/HUD/overall infantry mechanics...

this is a good idea and something ive thought about for a long time now.

its reminds me alot of the WGL {wargamers league mod} for the original operation flashpoint. The WGL mod was a realism mod for ofp, and it really improved everything about the game. The beauty of the flashpoint engine was that you could basically have an unlimited amount of add-ons and they would all work with each other. so other mods were made on top of the wgl mod.

also I agree EOD would be insane if it was built on top of PR

this has already been considered by alot of devs and is in our scrap book of wily ideas for the future...

good for you guys for finally coming up with it... :P
