[Weapon] my first model
Hey guys ive been wanting to learn how to model for quite some time now. This is the progress on my first ever model. Any comments good or bad are welcome or any tips would be appreciated.

looks very very good, if anybody comes in here and says that you should reduce the tri count etc don't when time comes and it's finished i will teach you to bake this down and make low poly of it so that you can get a nice next gen workflow

Looks pretty good, though depending on how you go about doing your models I've personally found that getting the right proportions of the entire model is best done first, and then details added later, but that's only from modeling in games like Spore, so don't take my advice over anyone with expperience

What looks like baked normals or at least subD modelling.... that is no way your first model

many people actually start out with sub-d modeling tim, if you look at art forums some peoples first 3d model is made from tuts and it's usually high poly work, but then it's not optimised for games at all.

this really is my first model all i did was use a simple tut so i understood what was going on lol the only previous experience i have is with the BF2editor and that not even modeling lol

Sub-division modelling is the technique you have used to make that mesh (creating edge loops and using turbo or meshsmooth modifier)
